(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Ping is a 35-year-old professional from the former Gansu Provincial Trust Investment Company, Stock Exchange Department (presently known as Hualong Stock Exchange Company). She is suffering from persecution merely because she persists in adhering to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" and clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to the government. Ms. Zhang is currently homeless, having been forced to leave home in order to avoid being arrested. Below is a factual account, in her own words, about the persecution she has experienced.
On November 3, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. I took my five-year-old child with me (since nobody could look after my child). On the same day, I was arrested and sent to the provincial liaison office in Beijing. Mr. Lu and Mr. Tian, the staff members there, extorted 600 yuan from me and did not give me any receipt. They have not returned the money. Illegally detaining others and stealing people's property violates Article 37 of the Constitution and the criminal law. Their criminal conduct should be investigated in accordance with the law.
On August 13, 2002, Wei Dong, Mr. Lu and others from Lanzhou City Police Department illegally broke into my house and abducted me and another Falun Dafa practitioner, Wei Junren. They used violence, taking away more than 500 yuan from me, and more than 2,000 yuan from Wei Junren along with his bankcard. (Wei Junren is presently detained at one of the prisons in Gansu Province and he was sentenced to18 years in prison. He appealed many times, but there has still been no resolution.)
Only because I shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," Wei Dong and another criminal brutally bashed my forehead. My mouth and nose bled profusely and my ears buzzed loudly. Wei Dong even tied my mouth and my neck with a piece of cloth that was one meter wide for four to five hours, which nearly suffocated me to death.
The persecution caused my face to become black and green and it damaged my hearing. I was covered in blood, with a dislocated jaw and a concussion. Presently, my jaw is still not completely healed and frequently aches. Later, the policemen sent me, Wei Junren, Qiang Xiaoyi and Wei Junren' elder brother to Section One (National Security Section) of the police department and interrogated us overnight. On the second day, we were sent to the Lanzhou City Xiguoyuan Detention Center where they continued to persecute us.
In the detention center, I was forced to wear heavy shackles that weighed around 40 to 60 pounds, connected to handcuffs. That made me only able to stand with my upper body bent over. Because I could not eat any food for one day and night (I was injured and unable to eat), the policemen force-fed me. Because my face was seriously injured, I vomited repeatedly and spit out blood. The police in the detention center sent me to a hospital for medical treatment on August 15, 2002. After more than forty days of treatment, I was released from the hospital. Then I was sent to Shanxi Province for further persecution.
In conclusion, Wei Dong, Mr. Lu, Mr. Tian, and others, including an over 40-year-old thug who worked in the city Police Department whose name is unclear, violated the law when they were supposed to uphold the law. They hit people arbitrarily. They violated Articles 234, 238, 245 and 251 of the criminal law. They intentionally caused injury, detained people, illegally ransacked their houses, and deprived citizens of the freedom of belief. In order to defend my legitimate rights, and punish the criminals, I request an investigation of their criminal behavior and that they be held legally responsible for their actions.
