(Clearwisdom.net) My husband Wu Yuan was a good husband, a good father, and an excellent schoolteacher. He was charming and humorous, worked diligently, and considered others first in everything he did. However, such a good person was persecuted to death by Jiang's evil regime and its followers. He was only 44 years old.
Wu Yuan began to practice Falun Gong in 1996. Before he practiced cultivation, his rhinitis was especially serious, and he felt it was difficult to teach school. He had to sleep sitting in a chair and sometimes had to gasp for breath. We spent a lot of money but could not cure his illness. He could not do farm work. Everything had to be done by me. After he began practicing Falun Gong, he was able to do all the farm work again, and his rhinitis was also cured. It was Falun Dafa that returned his good health.
We had a happy family. My daughter and son were sensible and lovely, my husband was generous and simple, and we loved each other. But then, what I did not even imagine possible in my worst nightmare became a reality. A good person like my husband, who believed in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," was suddenly arrested, sentenced to jail, and eventually persecuted to death because he taught his students to be good people. My heart is bleeding for his death. My husband, who my children and I depended on, was killed and his name has still not been cleared of those false charges. What can my children and I do?
On July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime began to persecute Falun Gong. On September 21, 1999, officers from the Beilu Local Police Station came to my home and conducted an illegal search. Then they took Wu Yuan, who was teaching classes at school, to the local police station and interrogated him for a whole day. They informed me that if I wanted to see him again, I needed to bring 2,000 yuan to the police station. Many people asked the police to be lenient, but in the end they still extorted 1,000 yuan from us before releasing Wu Yuan. At that time, my family did not have any money. I borrowed all of it. We do not understand. Is it wrong that we follow "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and strive to be good people?
On December 31, 1999, Wu Yuan went to Beijing to appeal for help, but he was arrested. Beilu Local Police Station sent four people to Beijing to take Wu Yuan back and send him to Lingyuan Detention Center. The total expenses of those who went to Beijing to bring Wu Yuan back were 1865 yuan (more than 600 yuan of which they did not have any receipts for). They forced us to pay all their expenses. Wu Yuan was illegally detained for half a month. On January 13, 2000, Lingyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau told me to come get him and extorted 1,000 yuan from me. On July 4, 2000, because he did not write the so-called "written guarantee [to stop practicing Falun Gong]," Wu Yuan was illegally arrested and detained for more than 20 days and fined an additional 600 yuan.
The afternoon of August 14, 2002 was a time in my life I am unable to forget. My husband was looking after his sick mother. She had fallen seriously ill. Fu Yanling from Lingyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau led many people to my home and abducted Wu Yuan, taking him to the local police station. At that time I thought to myself that my husband was a good person and he had not violated any laws, so I went to the local police station and wanted to help them understand, but they did not let me in. After more than two hours, they took my husband away and did not let us talk.
The next day, I went to Lingyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau to see Wu Yuan, but they did not allow me to see him. Later, I found out that Wu Yuan was illegally imprisoned in Lingyuan Prison. On September 5, 2000, the prosecutor issued an authorization for his arrest after the fact. On November 13, 2000, the prosecutor put Wu Yuan on trial for the so-called crime of "disrupting the execution of the law." On November 26, 2000, the court had a hearing and sentenced Wu Yuan to four years in prison, and then sent him to Shenyang, without even a written judgment. When I heard the news, I fainted.
I did not understand. What crime did my husband, such a good person, commit? Is it really wrong that he practiced Falun Gong? Is it a mistake that he asked his students to be good people? Where could I go to reason with someone? I cried until my tears ran dry and my throat could not make a sound.
In December 2002, I rode in a car more than 10 hours to go to Shenyang to visit my husband. After much trouble, they allowed us only 15 minutes visitation time.
On August 28, 2003, I went to Shenyang to visit Wu Yuan again. This time, when I saw him, his state of mind was especially good. We spoke a lot. The discussion took about 30 minutes. He said he could do well and asked me to set my mind at ease. After I listened to his words, I was especially happy. I deposited 400 yuan for him and encouraged him.
I did not imagine that less than two months later, after he was transferred to the Eleventh Unit of Shenyang Second Jail, that Wu Yuan would have to be released on bail for medical treatment. On December 8, 2003, Zhai Shun, Gao Yachuan, Wang Binggang, and Chief Yin from Shenyang Dabei Jail told me to prepare for Wu Yuan's release and said he had "oesophagus carcinoma." I did not believe it, because when I saw him just three months earlier, he even said he had gained weight.
We saw him at around 11 a.m. on December 10. At that time, I didn't believe my own eyes. I was shocked when I realized that the person sitting on the bed was my husband Wu Yuan. His face was thin and pale, but his eyes were bright and spoke powerfully. He was very skinny. At that time, I requested that they let me stay there to take care of him, but whatever I said, they did not agree. They asked me to "handle" his release on bail for medical treatment, which needed my signature.
I wanted to get Wu Yuan home quickly. I thought about how nice it would be if he came home. It was too good to be true. It was all a fraud. At around 3 p.m., I went through the necessary procedures to have him released on bail for medical treatment. I went to the Shenyang Train Station and took care of the formalities for going back home. As I just arrived at the train station, Shenyang Dabei Jail made a phone call to look for me. They asked me to stay in Shenyang to take care of Wu Yuan and told me he could get treatment in a local hospital outside the jail. When I heard this, I was very happy. They asked us to stay at a place nearby the train station so that it was easy to contact us. I was so happy that I did not sleep the whole night. The next morning, my sister's son drove a car to pick us up. He took us to buy a lot of foods high in nutrients.
I was shocked when we arrived at the jail and they told me Wu Yuan had died around 6 p.m. the night before. At first, I did not believe my ears. Yesterday, when I saw him, he was still in good condition. I wanted to make clear how on earth he died.
After my intense requests, my sister-in-law and I saw my husband Wu Yuan at Shenyang Funeral Parlor at around 4 p.m. on December 11, 2003. At that time, Wu Yuan lay in a refrigeration unit. Cotton filled his ears, nostrils and mouth. His eyes were bright, his body was warm, and so was his chest.
I asked them to touch his chest where it was warm. I said, "Wu Yuan is not dead. Rescue him immediately. You should in no way let him lie here." They said, "He already died."
The next day, when I changed Wu Yuan's clothes, I found there were black and blue marks on his chest, his back, his waist and his abdomen. I asked them how the bruises were made. They said they were made when they tried to do emergency resuscitation on Wu Yuan. I requested an autopsy, but they rejected my request. They cremated my husband arbitrarily. They did not give us any medical records.
On August 14, 2002, when Wu was arrested, his salary was stopped. My son and I had henceforth lost our only source of income. And now, I have lost my husband.
I strongly request Fu Yanling and the others to clear my husband's name.
