(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhao Shuyuan is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Karamay City, Xinjiang Province. She is around 30 years old and used to be an engineer in the Karamay Petroleum Administrative Department. She has been illegally sentenced to nine years in prison for appealing for justice for Falun Dafa. She was illegally imprisoned in Xinjiang Province Women's Prison (the Second Prison) from the beginning of 2003. When Zhao Shuyuan was put into prison, the prison guards used all kinds of methods to brainwash her into renouncing Falun Dafa. They repeated the "brainwashing class" again and again, but Zhao Shuyuan still persists in her belief.
Ma Ling, the deputy warden of the Fourth District prison, who is about 30 years old, called together a criticizing meeting within the entire district and instigated the prisoners to criticize and denounce Ms. Zhao because she refused to recite the prison rules and sing the brainwashing song. After that, Ma Lin put Ms. Zhao into a strict control team for further persecution. Ms. Zhao protested by staging a hunger strike. Ma Ling then barbarously force-fed Ms. Zhao three times a day, causing Ms. Zhao's trachea to be punctured to the point that she was unable to speak for a long time. Ma Ling even placed Ms. Zhao into the brainwashing class again, although she was still severely weakened from the abuse. To protest the relentless persecution, Zhao Shuyuan went on another hunger strike, but this resulted in even more cruel persecution.
During June and July of 2004, Li Peixin (about 30 years old), the warden of the Ninth District Prison, handcuffed Ms. Zhao's hands to the bed in an awkward position and tied her to a small wooden stool. This went on for more than 4 months. Zhao Shuyuan went on a hunger strike again. Li Peixin then selected several common criminal inmates, divided them into groups and ordered them to insert a tube into Ms. Zhao's esophagus for force-feeding. Force-feeding became their brutal method for torturing steadfast Dafa practitioners. Li Peixin also made an announcement that they would "record merit" and give sentence reductions to those prisoners who voluntarily persecuted Zhao Shuyuan. Zhao Shuyuan was extremely weak by this time, but they still handcuffed her and tied the handcuffs to the upper level of the bed. Li Peixin and Ma ling were afraid that the other prisoners would discover their evil behavior, so they covered the window of the door with a cloth and prohibited the prisoners who guarded Zhao Shuyuan to tell others what they were doing.
Ms. Wang Xi, who is 42 years old, was a teacher at Shihezi City Commercial College in Xinjiang Province. She was illegally put into a labor camp because she practices Falun Dafa. After she was released from the labor camp, Wang Xi was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Shihezi City Court. She has been imprisoned in the Xinjiang Province Women's Prison since June 2004 (District Nine Prison). Li Peixin, the warden of the Ninth District Prison, locked Ms. Wang up in a dark room and only gave her very small meals each day. Li Peixin didn't allow her to see people, didn't let her hear anything from outside and used many cruel methods to torture her body and spirit. This imprisonment lasted for more than three months. When Wang Xi came out of the dark room, she was extremely weak and exhausted. (The prison rules have the clear regulation that only a prisoner who has severely violated the rules can be imprisoned in the dark room, and the time limit cannot exceed five to seven days.) Li Peixin's action absolutely violated the prison regulations. When Li Peixin took Wang Xi back to the regular prison, she handcuffed Wang Xi to the bed and selected a few of her trusted prisoners to continue torturing her.
