(Clearwisdom.net) Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioner Fu Xueying has been detained in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China since the end of last October. Over the last few months, Shenzhen police has not allowed her family members to visit her. On February 17, 2004, her family members received notice from Nanshan Procuratorate, Shenzhen that Fu would be charged and prosecuted. The Procuratorate is charging her with "undermining the execution of national law" because she distributed VCDs clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in Nanshan District, Shenzhen.
Fu Xueying, 28, a kind-hearted homemaker, started practicing Falun Gong in 2001. Within half a year, her chronic health problems were cured and her temperament became gentler. She was full of hope about life.
Ms. Fu felt that she had to do something to help more people understand the facts about Falun Gong, and not be deceived by the propaganda in Mainland China. She decided to go to Shenzhen, which is very close to Hong Kong, and clarify the truth about Falun Gong. She was safeguarding the Chinese citizens' rights as stipulated in the Chinese Constitution. Her husband said, "I think my wife's actions should be rewarded, because she did not give up her belief under persecution."
For over three months, Shenzhen police tried to brainwash Ms. Fu and force her to write a statement to give up practicing Falun Gong. Her family members requested many times to visit her but was refused by the Shenzhen authorities. Without any other choice, Ms. Fu's friends and family started to look for help everywhere. Currently her case has been brought to the attention of Hong Kong residents from all walks of life.
The fact is that Jiang and his followers have tight control over the courts in China and Falun Gong practitioners do not receive fair trials, as they are not even allowed to defend themselves. We appeal to everyone to speak out for justice and stop this groundless trial.
