(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Liu Shuchun was a Falun Gong practitioner who was living in the Third Section of Songjiang Town of Changyi, Shandong Province. Because he refused to give up his belief in "Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance", he was sent to a detention center by the local policemen in the end of 2000. During his unlawful detention, Liu Shuchun went on a hunger strike to appeal against his persecution. He did not eat any food for three days.
On January 3, 2001, he was sentenced to 3-year forced laborand was sent to the Changle Labor Camp in Weifang District. The first day he arrived in the labor camp, seeing Liu's determined belief in Falun Dafa, a few policemen including Han Huiyue and Zhu Weile instigated cellmate Liu Chunxiang, Zhang Jintao, Niu Zhongxin, and Liu Xuetian to brutally beat Liu Shuchun to death. They tortured Liu in their 'usual' way, which they use many times on Falun Gong practitioners. They first beat Liu Shuchun and then claimed they would give him a 'bath.' In fact this was a torture whereby they placed him in water and then, using any tools they could find such as batons, a small stool, a whisk broom, a sweeper, and so on, they brutally beat Liu Shuchun. They also used an electric fan to blow cold air on him. During the entire process, people could hear Liu's painful cries until his voice disappeared in the end.
After Liu Shuchun was beaten to death, in order to keep news of their crime from being leaked, the police wrapped up Liu's head and entire body with cloth and carried his corpse out of the labor camp the next day. However, staff members of the People's Hospital accidentally disclosed information to the news station that the dead body from the labor camp had obviously been beaten to death. The labor camp then requested that the hospital announce his cause of death to be from disease. A few days later, the labor camp told Liu Shuchun's family members that he died from diseases.
People who joined in on the murder of Liu Shuchun : Xu Lihua, Zhou Jingtian, Lu Yibo, Zhu Weile, Ding Guihua, Zhu Anle, Han Huiyue, and a few others.
