(Clearwisdom.net) On June 12 2004, the Minghui School in Washington DC completed the school year in song.
The Minghui School here has a 3 and a half year history. During this time, the students have studied Chinese language and Chinese culture following the principle of "Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance" as well as how to conduct themselves better in daily life. "Virtue" is something they remember to cherish in their hearts.
For the year-end ceremony, the newly formed Minghui School Symphony band performed four pieces of music "On the Path of Return", "Song of Lotus" "Walk between Sky and Earth" and "I am a little Dafa practitioner". Next, came the violin solo "Coming for You" by Emily Pang and two pieces of trumpet music by Tony Xue.
The older students sang a chorus of "This is Your Opportunity" led by musician/teacher Drew Parker. The lyrics and music were composed during the class. The song was delightful. The young students demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. This was a short demonstration so the music was shorter than normal practice music but they followed closely nevertheless. The young students also recited five poems from "Hong Yin" and won warm applause. Katy made a report about the Bike Tour from DC to Chicago on behalf of all bike team members. Chen Guoguo made a related report in Chinese.
The principal thanked the teachers and volunteer parents for their hard work during the year. The staff members were also invited to the ceremony and were given a Minghui School uniform as a souvenir. Two parents (not Falun Gong practitioners) gave speeches on the stage and thanked the Minghui school for teaching the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," noting how their children have achieved outstanding progress in various aspects.
The ceremony completed and the attendees said "goodbye" to each other.
