(Clearwisdom.net) On June 19, Austin held its annual "Juneteenth"
grand parade to celebrate and commemorate the date of the abolishment of slavery
in Texas, which occurred on June 19, 1865. "Juneteenth" has now become
a celebration for Freedom by all ethnic groups. Near 10,000 people, nearly all
of them African Americans, viewed the parade. Falun Gong was the only Asian
group in the parade. Practitioners' colorful attire, beautiful float, peaceful
exercise demonstration and profound presence made the practitioners' group very
special and eye-catching. People in succession requested information from
practitioners, some who were farther away from the parade shouted loudly to stop
practitioners to get information, some rushed a few steps to catch practitioners
to get information, etc. A police officer also requested Falun Gong information
and said that he would learn the Falun Gong exercises. He was very happy to take
a photo with practitioners.
A 6-year-old practitioner also walked with other practitioners from the beginning to the end, her face became red because of the baking temperature but she seriously concentrated on distributing fliers to spectators. To let more people get Falun Gong information, her older sister carried a backpack full of fliers. The pure hearts of the children moved many spectators.
