SYDNEY, June 29 AAP - An Australian Falun Gong member was critically injured in a drive-by shooting in South Africa, the spiritual movement said today.
David Liang was travelling from Johannesburg Airport to Pretoria yesterday when multiple shots were fired at the car he was travelling in, the group said in a statement.
Mr Liang was in South Africa with eight other followers of Falun Gong, a movement which is outlawed in China.
He was in a critical condition at a South African hospital, the group said.
Comment was being sought from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
