(Clearwisdom.net) On July 15, 2004, Vancouver Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference at the Harbour Centre campus of Simon Fraser University to expose the South Africa shooting incident and the suspected role of Chinese vice president Zeng Qiong in hiring gunmen to shoot Falun Gong practitioners. Reporters from several media attended the press conference and interviewed David Liang, the Australian practitioner who was shot in both feet during the shooting incident, by telephone during the press conference.

At the beginning of the press conference, Andrea and Bronwen, the two hosts of the event, recounted respectively the shooting incident and crimes the Jiang regime committed during the persecution of Falun Gong. To eliminate Falun Gong, the two said, Jiang regime has executed state-run terrorism to implement the notorious "Bankrupt them financially, defame them and destroy them physically" policy. As a result, at least 1006 Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death. The shooting incident in South Africa is apparently an exportation of the Jiang regime's state-run terrorism in China to overseas.
After asking questions about the shooting incident, reporters then conducted a telephone interview with David Liang, the practitioner who was shot in both his feet during the incident.
During the telephone interview, David Liang told reporters that their South Africa trip was to take legal action against the visiting Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong for his role in the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. David said that the shooting incident was not a random attack, but a premeditated terrorist act. Despite the injuries he suffered, David told reporters very firmly that he is not frightened by the shooting and he would continue to participate in Falun Gong activities.
