At 8:30 pm of June 28, 2004, nine Falun Gong practitioners from Australia arrived at Johannesburg, South Africa and headed towards the Presidential Guest House by two cars. On their way, one passenger in a white car suddenly opened fire on the practitioners' second car. David Liang, who was the only one wearing a jacket with the words "Falun Dafa," was wounded in both feet and bones in one foot were shattered. The gunman did not try to rob the practitioners but sped away. One of the practitioners in the car said, "This is not a random shooting. It is Zeng Qinghong hiring gunmen to attack people, conducting a terrorist act and extending the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China to overseas."
Since July 1999, under Jiang's brutal persecution, at least 996 Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death. Zeng Qinghong is one of the culprits.
Philadelphia Falun Gong practitioners said in their statement that Zeng Qinghong hired gunmen to shoot Falun Gong practitioners in an attempt to escape a lawsuit that was to be filed against him during his visit to South Africa. The shooting incident drew attention around the world. The act exposed the Jiang regime's criminal nature in persecuting Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners in the Greater Philadelphia area will expose the terrorist act completely, appeal for help from the government and public, and call for a thorough investigation of the shooting incident to stop the spread of the state-sponsored terrorism.
There were many visitors and tourists who were shocked after looking at the pictures of torture perpetrated in China against practitioners and expressed indignation. Many of them signed their names to call for an end of the persecution. Looking at the photos of the shooting incident and listening to the practitioners' explanation, many people condemned the terrorist act. Some asked about how they could help end the persecution.
