(Clearwisdom.net) In order to raise awareness of the brutal persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang Zemin's regime in China, Falun Gong practitioners in Northern California held an anti-torture exhibition in front of the San Mateo County Government Building in the city of Redwood on August 6, 2004.

The peaceful Falun Gong exercises demonstration created a sharp contrast to the torture exhibition of the Tiger Bench, where a victim with scars all over was being tortured by four "Chinese policemen". People were shocked and couldn't believe that such brutality was still happening in the 21st century.
Introduced to the public by Master Li Hongzhi in May 1992, Falun Gong was spread all over China within a few years because of its many mental, physical, and spiritual benefits. More than one hundred million people were practicing Falun Gong in China by 1999. However, Jiang Zemin, out of his jealousy, launched the persecution of Falun Gong in spite of opposition from other Chinese leaders on July 20, 1999. At least one thousand and twenty Falun Gong practitioners are verified to have died from the persecution. The exhibition demonstrated some torture methods used in the persecution of Falun Gong, including the tiger bench, hanging and beating, digging bamboo sticks into the fingers, confining in cages and slave labor.
The San Mateo Daily Journal, a local daily newspaper, and Independent News reported this exhibition.
