A female Falun Dafa practitioner, 53-year-old Ms. Su Aigui from the Town of Hushi, in Tianmen City, Hubei Province, was severely tortured after she appealed twice in Tiananmen Square. She was arrested and sent to a detention center, where she was force-fed with vinegar and hot peppers. On January 7, 2005, she died as a result of this torture.
In 2001, Ms. Su Aigui was arrested for the first time and sent to the Tianmen City Detention Center. She was tortured by Zheng Xianjie (male) from the 610 Office and detention supervisor Li Qun'e (female). She was not released until she had sustained injuries over most of her body.
In 2003, afraid that Ms. Su had gone to Beijing to appeal during the Party's Sixteenth Congress, local police arrested her for the second time, despite the fact that she had to take care of her 90-year-old grandmother and 70-year-old mother.
During her 9-day hunger strike, she was force-fed vinegar with hot peppers by detention center guards continuously for 6 days. Finally, the doctor at the detention center realized that Ms. Su was near death. Not wanting to take responsibility, the authorities had prison staff carry her home. After she got home, she miraculously regained some strength. However, she had difficulty eating due to the torture she received in the detention center and was unable to further improve. She passed away on January 7, 2005.
