(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, and the People's Daily launched another round of carefully crafted slanderous propaganda against Falun Gong, disparaging the anti-torture exhibitions held by Falun Gong practitioners to expose the evil persecution.
Like previous propaganda disseminated during the persecution, the purpose of this smear campaign is to cover up the perpetrators' crimes and to sustain the already doomed persecution.
Once people examine the information a little closer, they will recognize the truth. The persecution of Falun Gong depends solely on lies, the information blockade, and brainwashing. Every time when the persecution reached a point of losing ground, Jiang and his accomplices launched another propaganda campaign, during which more lies were created.
In the beginning of the persecution, Jiang's regime told everyone about the "1,400 death cases," claiming that Falun Gong had caused over 1,400 Chinese citizens to die or become disabled. They blamed Falun Gong for suicides, murders and neurosis, although these claims were totally unsubstantiated and far from the truth.
After a while, people became clearheaded and discovered after careful analysis that even if the information were true, the number of deaths was miniscule. In other words, 1400 deaths among this many people practicing would amount to less than 10% of the average death rate in China. Such low statistics actually proved that practicing Falun Gong has a great effect of improving people's health.
Then later, as more statistical results demonstrated Falun Gong's good effects on people's minds and bodies, many of the so-called death cases turned out to be fabrications, and many police were moved by the peacefulness, rationality, and compassion of Falun Gong practitioners, it became more difficult to continue with the persecution.
Jiang's regime immediately went into high gear. They staged a self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square, which shocked the whole world. During the "self-immolation," the perpetrators of the persecution murdered Liu Chunling, beating her to the ground by hitting her hard on the head with a heavy object, and allowing her then to burn to death. The authorities fabricated stories that made no sense whatsoever. The hair of one of the people who supposedly "committed self-immolation" (shown to the world on CCTV television news from a hospital bed) was not burned at all. Allegedly, the little girl's trachea was cut open, yet she could still sing a song for the television cameras. Another "seriously burned patient" was wrapped in thick layers of gauze bandages, which medical experts claim is the last thing one would do to such a patient. The list of inexplicable circumstances goes on and on.
The architects of this scheme lied to tarnish Falun Gong'''s image (describing them as devils) and instigated hatred toward them. This was done to justify and pave the road for the unprecedented genocide.
Once the lies about the self-immolation incident were exposed, and the incident was proven to be staged by Jiang's regime, the state controlled media, such as CCTV, created another story known as "The Capital Murder Case." They again blamed Falun Gong by distorting the truth about Fu Yibin, a mentally disturbed man, who killed members of his family. The propaganda artists of Jiang's regime worked overtime. Once the truth about this story was also exposed, the media publicized "poisoning beggars to death in Zhejiang Province." Again, they shifted the blame to Falun Gong....
However, fabrications remain fabrications. It has becomes evident that the libelous stories that put the blame on Falun Gong 'do not work anymore because they are seen for what they are. Even the perpetrators who created these lies are at their wit's end and can no longer play damage control. The' lies are unraveling, as there are too many loose ends.
Falun Gong has spread to over 60 countries worldwide, bringing people peaceful minds and healthy bodies. On the other hand, truth-clarifying activities such as the anti-torture exhibitions unmistakably expose the crimes--no matter how hard the communist regime tries to block such information--to the international community. As a result, people who see the anti-torture exhibitions truly feel the brutality and evil of the persecution. They are being moved, shocked, and filled with indignation. The comments and condemnation from the international community have the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) more and more worried. They feel boxed in and helpless.
As dismay has taken hold of Jiang's followers, they have' attempted to attack the anti-torture exhibitions and other truth-clarifying activities by practitioners. Yet now, as the great suffering of practitioners in China is exposed by practitioners, this has resulted in more people learning the truth and the voice of justice is growing daily. People are recognizing the reasons behind the renewed slander and attacks.
The media should be society's conscience, and promote the common values of humanity. Yet, during the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, China's media have been willing collaborators of Jiang's regime. Every new lie becomes an element that helps the persecution. Jiang has stepped down as president of China. Why does the state controlled media continue to act as the brainwashing and killing tool for Jiang? Why does China's media continue to cover up the crimes and thus allow the crimes to continue?
On Wednesday, December 3, 2003, the United Nations Criminal Court for Rwanda handed two convicted individuals life sentences in prison, and sentenced the third to a 35-year prison term. "All three were found guilty on charges of genocide, conspiracy to commit genocide and inciting public agitation to commit genocide, among others." Those who continue to slander Falun Gong will surely have to face justice for their crimes as well.
People wonder if China's new leadership will continue with the appalling persecution, a persecution that has greatly harmed both the Chinese people and the international community. People are wondering if the new leadership will follow in Jiang's footsteps, using the same methods and escalate the persecution. How long will they let the persecution continue?
No matter how the state controlled media cover up the crimes, no one dares to deny the existence of persecution. The United Nations Human Rights Committee has condemned Jiang's regime for its violation of Falun Gong practitioners' human rights year after year in its reports. Violations include torturing to death, using brutal torture methods, arrest and detention of practitioners and using violence against women. Now that their lies have been exposed one after another, the state controlled media has lost its credibility. Their arrogance cannot prevent the truth from being spread or conceal their fears and helplessness.
Practitioners have suffered more than 5 long years of this inhuman persecution. They have filed 47 lawsuits in 28 countries against many of the main perpetrators. In December 2001, the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York ruled against Zhao Zhifei, chief of police and second-in command of the 610 Office in Hubei Province. The Party Secretary of Gansu Province, Su Rong, was served with a summons delivered by a Marshall of the Zambia High Court on the afternoon of November 4, 2004. Su escaped from Zambia. After a one-year trial, on December 8, 2004, Judge Wilkin of the United States District Court Northern District of California affirmed a magistrate's ruling that Beijing Communist Party Secretary Liu Qi is liable for the crimes of torture and crimes against humanity by the police under his administration in its persecution of Falun Gong.
It is clear that punishment for these crimes is starting to be meted out. For the perpetrators, covering up the crimes with lies can only make their crimes worse, since each lie is evil and a crime in itself. Killings covered with lies grow perpetually and increase the severity of the crimes.
None of the criminals can escape from the punishment of heavenly laws. All of those who have participated in creating the lies need to think about the punishment that awaits them. The question remains, what kind of future position will they choose?
