(Clearwisdom.net) One morning in 2000, the Chinese Communist Party Committee of Taipingzuang Village in Hebei Province, along with Men Fawang, an officer notorious for persecuting Falun Gong, and members of the county 610 Office gathered in secret. Many people were walking briskly in the hallway. Among them were Yu Li, the commissioner of Weizhou Town; Zhang Guixiang, the deputy commissioner of Weizhou Town; Ren Ligang, a retired officer who played a major role in persecuting Falun Gong, as well as cameramen and reporters from the local TV station. The event was closed to spectators.
Very early in the morning, the village officials rounded up a few older and uneducated Falun Gong practitioners. They told the practitioners beforehand to read the slanderous speech that was prepared for them, and then they were ordered to memorize the speech. Afterward, they were taught how to use the microphone.
When it seemed all was ready, a news reporter asked one of the practitioners to begin. The practitioner said, "I forget what I'm supposed to say." So another practitioner was asked to proceed, and that practitioner also said, "I forget." The same scenario played out for each and every practitioner. This upset the reporters and cameramen so much that they started bickering with each other. Finally, they had to send all of the practitioners home, and the farce came to an end.
