(Clearwisdom.net) For a long time, the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City (also known as Jilin Provincial Women's Labor Camp) has forced its illegally jailed practitioners to work overtime, often in a toxic environment.
In 2004, prison officials forced practitioners to make model birds. Some feathers were dusted with camphor particles (used as an insecticide) and they had a bad odor. During the selecting and cutting phase, the entire factory was filled with this dust and people were coughing constantly. Their mucus was even the same color as the feathers. As a result, the practitioners' lungs and bronchial systems were damaged. Rather than taking any preventive measures, however, the labor camp continually increased the practitioners' work loads to increase production.
In December 2004, without concern for the practitioners' well-being, and without considering the adverse effects on society, the labor camp began producing a particular kind of playing card used for gambling. The cards were coated with an unknown chemical on the back. The chemical is extremely harmful, and common side effects from exposure include dizziness, nausea, weakness, and vomiting.
We urge people to boycott products made with slave labor, and to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
