(Clearwisdom.net) The Qingdao Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province has been persecuting practitioners since July 20, 1999. They set up a special unit just to torture practitioners. They gathered up the practitioners and sent them to brainwash classes. A prison guard said to the practitioners, "I can kill you any way I want, and report that you committed suicide."
On January 20, 2002, prison guard Meng Yong ordered collaborators Gong Chuiai, Liang Guiai, and others to torture practitioner Shao Chengluo for eight days. When this did not work, they punched him and slapped his face throughout the night out of frustration. By morning, Shao Chengluo's face was disfigured and unrecognizable.
In June of 2002, the prison guards and collaborators brutally tortured the 60-year-old Wang Dehong for 20 days until Mr. Wang was completely spent. Every night, there were sounds of wailing, beatings and verbal abuse that kept people up all night. When Shao Chengluo questioned why they illegally beat Wang Dehong, Wang Bin said that they were "helping him."
Later on they tortured Shao Chengluo, as well. The prison guards asked the collaborators to torture but not to kill the practitioners. For over a month they tortured Shao Chengluo and caused dislocations in his neck and spine. His limbs were covered with bruises. Sometimes they had about a dozen people beating him. When he fell down, they stomped on him. When he passed out, they poured cold water to revive him and then continued the beating. The group leader Wang Fangyuan observed the scene many times and said shamelessly, "I thank you all on behalf of the government."
Shao Chengluo asked Wang Bin many times why they beat practitioners. Wang Bin said, "Don't worry, we won't kill you. We are just eliminating some of your karma for you."
In January of 2003, Shao Chengluo protested against the beating. Wang Bin said in front of everyone, "You are too stubborn. Actually they are too easy on you." That night Wang Bin ordered Liang Guiai and Tang Junwei to beat Shao Chengluo, and they struck his head and face with their shoes. They only stopped when they were too tired to continue. Shao's ears and eyes were bleeding, and signs of injury can still be seen today.
On May 28, 2003, Wang Bin shocked Shao Chengluo with an electric baton because Shao tried to ask someone to send a letter to his family, as practitioners are not allowed to send letters to their families. Wang called it the "electric treatment." He ordered Tang Junwei to tie Shao Chengluo up with a rope. Mr. Shao was then beaten, closely watched, and forced to sleep on the ground for three months. They also extended his sentence by three months.
The Qingdao Labor Camp inhumanly tortured practitioner Wang Hui from Laixi. As a result, Wang Hui suffered a mental collapse. He was depressed and could not eat or sleep. He could not perform the physical labor, so the prison guards used that as an excuse to torture him further. They beat him, shocked him with an electric baton and force-fed him. Prison guard Li Bing said that Wang Hui pretended to be sick, verbally abused him and beat him in front of others. Prison guards Liu Tongxian, Gao Yong, assistant guard Liu Xiangyang, Xu Tonglai, Ma Jun, and many others all beat Wang Hui at some point. They also shocked him with an electric baton to force him to eat. The most shameless were collaborators Liang Guifu, Liang Guian, and Tang Junwei, who beat Wang Hui with soft sole slippers, hard sole slippers, and leather boots. They stopped only when they were exhausted. Wang Hui screamed in pain first, and later was too spent to even make a sound.
Wang Hui could not eat anything, as he would throw up as soon as he swallowed something. The prison guards used this as an excuse to torture him more, turning meal times into torture sessions. Tang Junwei beat him with leather boots and routinely punched him. They would repeatedly punch and slap his face. Wang Hui was often beaten until blood was dripping from his mouth and nose. Every day, they kicked his shins with leather boots, drove their knees into his lower back, and struck his neck with their elbows.
Shao Chengluo protested many times, but the prison guards said that Wang Hui was faking it. Near the end of his term, the prison guards realized the seriousness of his condition. They knew the seriousness of Mr. Wang's condition, but they continued to torture him. Later Shao Chengluo went on a hunger strike to help Wang, and that ended the beatings. To cover up their evil deeds and avoid being exposed, they finally put Wang Hui on some simple treatments.
By this time, Wang Hui was very weak and thin, as well as mentally unstable. The long-term physical abuse made him run whenever he saw Tang Junwei holding a leather boot or even changing his shoes. It took him quite some time to recover physically and emotionally after he went back home. Wang Hui could not take care of himself for a long time.
Qingdao practitioner Wang Bingwen refused to be transformed. The prison guards used various methods, such as beatings, sleep deprivation, and many other forms of punishment. In 2003, they brought in a few female collaborators from the provincial labor camp to help them with brainwashing. They locked Wang Bingwen in a room, according to the assistant prison guard who witnessed the event, and the female collaborators went to work. Wang Bingwen refused to cooperate, and was beaten and kicked by the prison guard.
After the failed brainwashing attempt, they tortured Wang Bingwen for 16 days. Later, the prison guards ordered Tang Junwei and Liang Guian to beat Wang Bingwen. The assistant prison guard Shang Jingguohad had been in labor camp himself and learned all kinds of torture methods. Under the order of the leader Xu Changcun, different forms of torture methods were applied on Wang Bingwen, such as burning the hands and face with lighters, poking the eyelids with a needle, exposure to the freezing cold during the winter, and being doused with freezing water. If Wang Bingwen gives up Falun Gong, Shang Jingguo's prison term will be cut in half, and Xu Changcun may be promoted to deputy director of the labor camp. As of now, they are still torturing Wang Bingwen, and his current condition is unclear.
The special unit for persecuting practitioners has been dismissed, and they sent about two dozen practitioners into various groups for further physical abuse. The labor camp started a new round of torture for the steadfast practitioners. They allowed no visits from family members before the Chinese New Year, intensified their forced labor and required longer hours.
