(Clearwisdom.net) In the year 2000, a colleague of mine tipped off the leaders of my work unit about my Falun Dafa truth clarification activities. Those leaders were angry and afraid that my activities might implicate them and damage their personal interests. They decided to dismiss me from my job and intended to pass out an official written document regarding my dismissal to the various departments. Right before they were to send out the document, however, they wanted to talk to me first.
Before the discussion, they attempted to trick me and said that they might need to transfer me to another department, and even asked me to consider which department I'd like to be transferred to. However, I knew their real intention through help from others.
Faced with this immediate tribulation, I began to reflect upon myself. I came to realize that whenever I was clarifying the truth to the public, I harbored many attachments deep within my heart. As a result, I was not able to "Validate the Fa with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and save people with mercy."("Rationality" from Essentials for Further Advancement II) I decided I would like to take this chance to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to those officials so that they could be saved.
All the related leaders were present and appeared serious and somber. The head manager started the meeting by lightheartedly telling the audience a story. In the story, there were many indirect insults and slander against Falun Dafa and its practitioners. At that point, I had already let go of my related attachments--I just wanted to save those people. So, after the manager finished his story, I remained cool and collected, and wisdom came to my mind naturally. I immediately followed up on the manager's story with my own story. The main content of the story was from the article "Remorse of a Police Officer." (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/2/24/4429.html). I mixed in some cultivation experiences of my family and myself in the story, and I also talked about the principle of good being rewarded with good and evil being punished with karmic retribution.
The managers listened to my story and started to look at each other nervously. They were speechless and obviously shaken. The head manager nervously asked me what my story really meant. I told him calmly that it didn't mean anything; it was just a story. He then threatened me and said, "I will give you one more week to think it over about Falun Gong After one week, if your still have the same attitude, I am afraid your job will have to be changed." I was not intimidated by his words at all and said, "I am sure that my attitude will still be the same."
One week passed, and there was still no news about my job. Two weeks went by, the head manager approached me and said: "Well, you can keep your current position."
In 2002, the local police in our area started a comprehensive roundup of Falun Dafa practitioners. I was forced to leave my home and go from place to place. After some time, I returned and tried to go back to my work unit. My work unit was restructured, and my unit's management all came from other departments.
It occurred to me that on some level, maybe these people were taking turns to learn about Falun Gong so that they could be saved. Later, I learned that there were no practitioners in those departments where these managers used to be, and I was the only practitioner in the whole company. Just as I had this thought, I received an ultimatum from them that I must come back to my job immediately. I was more than happy to do so, but I refused their additional requirement that I write the so-called guarantee statement giving up Falun Dafa.
In the end, the new head manager had a talk with me to discuss my situation. I took the opportunity to clarify the truth about the April 25 appeal and the staged Tiananmen self-immolation. He listened to me intently. When I told him about the persecution that I had personally experienced during these years, the manager was astonished. He thought it over for a long time and then asked me: "So, which public security station has jurisdiction over your area? I'd like to talk to the policemen from that station." I gave him the information. Our talk became more and more harmonious and in the end, he promised me that he would try his best to protect my safety. He also sincerely hoped that I would take care of myself under such enormous pressure.
Later on, this chief manager indeed contacted the local public security station and criticized the police staff there for their improper behavior. He also requested that they stop harassing me at my home.
