Facts of the Persecution
1. Atrocities that the Zhengzhou Prison Inflicts on Dafa Practitioners
Zhengzhou Prison guards frequently direct convicts to torture Dafa disciples. They constantly punish practitioners using such methods as solitary confinement and non-stop standing and running. The shortest period of these lasted seven days, while the longest period lasted six months. Five convicts monitored and tortured Dafa disciples Zhang Hu and Liu Xiusheng (both from Xinyang). They forced these practitioners to run non-stop from 7 a.m. to noon. After lunch, they forced them to stand until two in the afternoon. Then, they forced them again to run in the field. When they finished their dinner, they were forced to stand until 11 p.m.
Before being released from prison, Dafa disciples have to be transferred to the thirteenth prison district for more intense persecution. Once they are there, the first group uses all sorts of methods to intimidate the practitioners. The second group uses collaborators to deceive practitioners by lying about what the teachings of Falun Dafa say. Seven days before the practitioners' release, they are again transferred to another individual room, where prisoners convicted of murder threaten them with violence and terror. These convicts pinch their armpits, and burn the skin between their fingers and their toes with cigarettes. They then choke their throats until they lose consciousness. Finger marks show on the practitioners' throats when the convicts release their hands.
