3. "Enemy of the Public"
The political slogan, "Carry on the revolution under the proletariat dictatorship," was the theory used to back up the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) efforts to suppress people when Mao Zedong was in power. The slogan, "Stability is our top priority," was the excuse, or so called political theory, used by the CCP to kill people during Jiang Zemin's time. Both of these fallacious theories originated from the communist party philosophy of "fight and compete," which is against the law and humanity.
Some people who have been poisoned by the rumors and propaganda of the CCP have said, "The economic development of China requires social stability. Falun Gong harms social stability, so the government should attack Falun Gong." The prolonged tyranny and corruption of officials in China have made people very upset. Under the unfair treatment of the CCP, people appeal to government offices based on their rights to appeal as guaranteed in the Chinese Constitution. This is an example of the proper process of addressing problems through legal channels. In normal societies, the action of appealing is legal and is protected by law.
However, the CCP has slanderously dismissed Falun Gong practitioners' appeals that they had been treated with injustice as "harming the stability of the society" and "disturbing social order." The CCP used these claims as their reasons to arrest many practitioners, detain them, sentence them to jail terms, and torture them, even to death. In over 60 countries other than China, people can freely practice Falun Gong. Practitioners in those countries often clarify the truth publicly to expose the persecution. Nobody has ever charged them with "harming the stability of the society" or "disturbing social order." Why is CCP-controlled China different from all those countries?
This is how China is different from other countries. The CCP culture embodies the CCP will, and it puts itself above the law of China, and in the process, it destroys the law. In the CCP culture, many people blindly follow party propaganda and believe that Jiang Zemin's unjustifiable persecution of Falun Gong is alright. In fact, what truly harms social stability is Jiang Zemin's unreasonable persecution.
4. "The Enemy of Science"
During the "Cultural Revolution" many scientists were persecuted. In the present market-economy there has been a popular saying: "The salary of scientists who make atomic bombs is less than that of pickled egg vendors." Everyone knows that the CCP does not respect science, nor does it understand the true spirit of science. Yet this does not stop the CCP from using science to attack Falun Gong.
There have been many prominent Western scientists who have believed in God, including Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein. In the academic world, the debate between people who believe in gods and people who don't has existed for a long time. This is totally normal - it's the two sides of the principle of "inter-generation and inter-inhibition." People have freedom of belief, and they don't attack each other because of their different beliefs. Absurdly, the CCP extends its philosophy of struggle to all fields: it carries out political struggle in science and ideology. It created a group of political goons with a scientific appearance and propagandizes "political atheism" (The CCP calls it "scientific atheism") and uses it to achieve its political goals. Marxism has been proved to be a false science in modern practice, yet the political goons disguised in the garb of scientists stubbornly follow the lies of Marxism. More importantly, these political goons don't have the academic spirit and attitude of discussion and research. Their purpose is to persecute people. Backed by the people in power, they put labels such as "false science" and "superstition" on anything other than the ideology of the CCP and attack people who have different ideas, including Falun Dafa practitioners.
Science itself is developing. Inventions and new discoveries are, by definition, things that people did not previously understand or did not have before. What we consider as true today might be proved wrong tomorrow. The scientific way of thinking and attitude should be open-minded, yet the CCP culture's way of thinking is only in terms of political struggle; its attitude is attack. In particular, it uses the accusation of "superstition" as a weapon to torture people.
The word "superstition" means "to zealously believe in something." It is a neutral word and doesn't denote any derogatory meaning. During the Cultural Revolution, the CCP coated the word with the connotation of feudalism and distorted its meaning, making it a derogatory word, and linked the word with stupidity, ignorance, and as being harmful to society. Thus the word "superstition" has become a political weapon of the CCP, which then uses it to destroy traditional culture and dictate the field of science.
The CCP ignores the miraculous effects of Falun Gong (which has improved people's health and minds) and the fact that Falun Gong brings a hundred benefits but not a single harm to society. It was only because there were a large number of practitioners and because they believed in the existence of gods (which was contrary to the "political atheism" of the CCP's culture) that the CCP put the label of "superstition" on Falun Gong. The CCP thus felt that that was a reason to suppress Falun Gong, and therefore started the persecution.
5. Other False Theories Used to Justify the Persecution
Jiang's regime has labeled Falun Gong practitioners as "enemies." Different "enemy" labels are used to deceive different people. These labels together have deceived many Chinese people. In the CCP culture, "enemies" are the target of attacks and persecution. Other false theories include:
i) The CCP culture has seriously distorted Chinese people's notions and criteria to discern good and evil, in order for the CCP to get away with their dangerous and absurd excuses to kill people. Some people are deceived by the CCP propaganda about its economic achievements, thinking that the CCP has the right to kill people because of them. What's the reality of the economic achievement that the CCP has been bragging about? According to some statistics, the current Chinese economy rank in the world is far lower than that of the Qian Long Period (1736-1795). During the Qian Long Period in the Qing Dynasty, China's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was 51% of that of the world. In the early years of the Republic of China, established by Sun Yat-Sen in 1911, China's GDP was 27% of the world's total. In 1922 China's GDP still amounted to 12% of the world's total. When the CCP took power, China's GDP was 5.7% of the world's total. Yet in 2003 it was reduced to 2.1%. Many people think that under the control of CCP, the Chinese economy is heading toward total collapse.
ii) The financial income of a nation's government comes from the people. People pay taxes to support the government officials. It is the government officials' duty to work for the people. The CCP has distorted the Chinese people's notions and made them believe that the CCP supports the people, that the CCP gave people jobs, and that the CCP paid the people's salaries. In other countries it would be laughed at if one said that the government raised the people. In the persecution of Falun Gong, some hired thugs have said, "The CCP (Jiang Zemin) gave me money. I help the CCP (Jiang Zemin) persecute (Falun Gong)." As a matter of fact, where do the CCP and Jiang Zemin get their money? It all comes from the people's hard-earned money. The CCP and Jiang Zemin not only take away the people's hard-earned money and put it into their own pockets, they also use the people's money to suppress people.
iii) The false theory that "All crows under the sun are black" is used by the CCP to distract others from their evil doings. There is a strange phenomenon. Whenever you mention the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong, there will be someone who replies with the argument that the U.S. is also bad, which is a totally irrelevant answer. The connotation of such a notion is that, "All crows under the sun are black." The implication is that the CCP's murder and setting fires is nothing abnormal. The ultimate purpose is also to help provide an excuse for ignoring the CCP's murder and crimes. In such people's hearts, they are not able to separate the CCP from the nation. As soon as you mention the CCP, they would think that you are talking about China. They use a false sense of nationalism to conceal the CCP's acts of violence, and they use patriotism and nationalism as the CCP's pretext.
IV. The Utterly Inhumane CCP Culture's Way of Thinking in Persecuting Falun Gong
Jiang Zemin has fabricated the many crimes charged against Falun Gong, and has identified the nature of the Falun Gong issue as a life-or-death struggle and a rigorous political struggle that might subjugate the CCP and the nation. He labeled Falun Gong as the CCP's enemy. Therefore, all of the CCP dictatorship regime's means of torturing and murdering people are used against Falun Gong.
1. The law turns "a deaf ear"
The CCP's philosophy of struggle operates under the logic of a dictatorship, attacking people and torturing people as they choose. The Chinese people have formed a rigid "struggle" mindset throughout the long-term class struggles within the CCP regime. They use the conditioned response theory, torturing and ruling over people to handle conflict. They lack tolerance, and don't have a legal awareness or mindset. They don't know how to and don't want to solve problems by lawful means.
Some people have said, "There are too many people practicing Falun Gong. The CCP is afraid of it, and thus the CCP's persecution is reasonable." This is the result of people's not having any sense of government by law. That is, the CCP culture has distorted their thinking. Falun Gong practitioners follow Truth-Compassion-Forbearance to be good people and have high moral standards. They have not violated any laws. Having a lot of people practicing does not violate the law. Nor is it a crime. If it were a crime to have a lot of people in a group, should the CCP kill every single Chinese person because China has lots of people? Isn't it better to have a higher number of good people? How can "having too many good people" become an excuse to persecute them?
In a normal society with a healthy legal system and that is governed by law, everyone is equal in front of the law. Yet the CCP's laws exist only for the CCP's benefit. Such laws are applied differently to different people, and the law never goes against the CCP's will. The CCP culture does not have the concept of law. And it never talks about law when it attacks people. Jiang Zemin persecuted Falun Gong under the cover of law, and then wildly follows the practices of a criminal syndicate. In fact, Jiang Zemin used his power as the law when he launched the persecution of Falun Gong. He never followed any legal procedure since the very start. It never went through discussion in the People's Congress. The court and the Procuratorate have never investigated or conducted trials in public. Jiang totally disregarded the interests of the nation, and pushed forward the persecution with his personal power. He destroyed the freedom of belief that the Chinese Constitution guarantees. He usurped the name of the government and the people, maneuvered the power of the entire CCP and the Chinese government, and casually arrested and killed innocent people. He carried on state terrorism and ruined the social stability.
Jiang Zemin used government memos and secret verbal orders to replace the law. He secretly declared, "The law does not apply to Falun Gong." The Constitution and the law have turned a totally "deaf ear" to the illegal persecution of Falun Gong and are just for display. Recently, the famous lawyer Gao Zhisheng published an open letter in which he mentioned that through his contact with some Falun Gong practitioners, he discovered that Falun Gong practitioners had been completely deprived of their rights of citizenship. On February 8, 2005 the Falun Dafa Information Center reported that the 610 Office in mainland China had spread another verbal secret document that required the public security sectors, procuratorial sectors and people's courts to not accept Falun Gong practitioners' complaints, appeals, or charges. Jiang regime's secret documents and verbal secret orders have tramped the Constitution and the public laws.
According to people in legal circles, Jiang's group has used its power to trample on the law and persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP itself has violated many laws in the country and committed many crimes. For instance, Jiang's group has violated Articles 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, and 41 in the Constitution of the People's Republic of China. Their crime fits the stipulation in Articles 13 and 14 in the Chinese Criminal Law. Their actions include intentionally committing crimes, such as: humiliation; slander; illegally depriving citizens of their rights to belief; abuse of power; lodging false accusations and framing people; illegal searches; illegal detention and arrest; extortion of "confessions" by torture; collection of evidence through coercion; violation of the freedom of communication; the seizure and destruction of mail and telegrams without permission; seeking revenge; the creation of false evidence; interfering with witnesses; attacking and seeking revenge against witnesses; torturing
people in jail; intentionally harming others; causing death by "accident"; intentional murder; and twisting the law to suit their own purpose, among other flagrant abuses.
2. "No measure is too excessive when dealing with Falun Gong"
What does it tell us about Zhang Zhixin's suffering during the Cultural Revolution? How does one explain the cannibalism in Guangxi Province? The demon culture of the CCP has destroyed the human nature of the Chinese people, and it has distorted their normal thinking, logic and emotion. Falun Gong practitioners have suffered extreme injustice. However, since Falun Gong is regarded as the enemy of the CCP, many Chinese people have completely lost their sense of conscience, kindness, sympathy, a sense of justice, and the social responsibility that one should have. Instead, they maintain the unexplainable hatred that has been stirred up by the CCP culture.
Jiang Zemin claimed, "I just don't believe that the CCP can't win against Falun Gong." He thus made the following general policy in persecuting Falun Gong: "ruin their reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically." Jiang's extermination of human nature is inherited from the demon culture of the CCP. Those goons at all levels, who have been nurtured in such a demon culture, have implemented the CCP's policy unfeelingly and ruthlessly with all kinds of inhumane, immoral and lawless means. Such means are used to slander and attack Falun Gong and deprive Falun Gong practitioners of their rights as citizens, their dignity and their basic human rights. For example, Wang Qiang, the mayor of Wendeng City, Shandong Province and the deputy secretary of the Municipal CCP Committee, said viciously on October 9, 2000 during a municipal office meeting attended by the officials in the level of section and above, "[about Falun Gong practitioners], It is better to arrest 3,000 wrongly than to leave one out. Next time there are any more who dare to appeal in Beijing, take them back and break their feet..."
Because Falun Gong practitioners do not give up their belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," they have suffered the bloody, inhumane persecution by the CCP and Jiang's regime. Under the control of Jiang's regime, the 610 Office and police do not go after criminals who have committed serious crimes, but instead search everywhere to arrest practitioners, good people who follow the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." One after another, the series of secret orders from Jiang's regime arise, "No human rights for Falun Gong," "The law is not applied to Falun Gong," "No measure is too excessive when dealing with Falun Gong," "Beating to death is regarded as committing suicide," and so on.
Therefore, the following tragic cases have occurred. A female student in Chongqing University was raped publicly. Eighteen female practitioners were stripped naked and thrown into a men's prison cell. The confirmed death toll now stands at 2,336 practitioners who have died due to the persecution. These are the direct victims of a campaign of national terrorism by Jiang's regime, which is the most shameful, brutal and evil since ancient to modern times. Some practitioners were beaten to death; some suffered brutal tortures and died slowly; some died due to being force-fed; some died due to being injected with drugs that damaged the central nervous system; and some suffered mental collapse due to the persecution.
Ms. Yu Xiuling, a 32-year-old villager from the seventh block of Qichengzi Village in Damiao Town, Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province was taken from her home by police from the Longcheng District Police Department in Chaoyang City on September 14, 2001. She was then detained in the Shijiazi Detention Center. On September 19 at 8 a.m., Ms. Yu was sent from the Shijiazi Detention Center to the Longcheng district Police Department. There, police tried to force her to give up her practice of Falun Gong and admit to committing a crime [which she did not commit]. During the interrogation, policemen Huang Dianxiang and Sun Xu beat Ms. Yu continuously until 9 p.m.. After 13 hours of brutal torture, Ms. Yu was close to death. One person suggested sending her to a hospital for emergency treatment, but another officer said, "Don't send her to the hospital, it would be hard for us to give an explanation if the treatment could not save her." To cover up their crime, Huang and Sun threw Ms. Yu, still alive, out of the 4th floor window, and Yu Xiuling died from the impact. Her body was hastily sent for cremation at midnight on the same evening.
The police notified Ms. Yu's husband, Feng Dianxiang, that his wife had died from "jumping from a building." When he arrived, he was allowed to view the body only once. Huang and Sun threatened Feng, saying, "If you want to file a lawsuit, feel free to do that in any place. We have orders from the top that no measure is too excessive when dealing with Falun Gong."
V. "Cattle Shed" and "Transformation Class" -- The CCP destroys human nature through so-called ideological reform
A veteran writer who suffered persecution for no reason during the Cultural Revolution wrote in his biography, "It is so strange for me what I was doing at that time. It seemed I had drunk some type of magic potion so that I raised both my hands and shouted loudly to willingly acknowledge I was guilty and willingly being deprived of my rights as a human being."
An innocent person was compelled under the CCP's political, ideological education and reform to "willingly acknowledge one's guilt" and thus be deprived of one's rights as a human being. And at the same time, he even felt gratitude for "the Party's concern and education." It is certainly not just the case for one person, it is a popular phenomenon that reached its peak during Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong.
"Ideological reform," also known as brainwashing, is the specialized method used by the CCP to implement mental control and persecution. It has been the basic policy for the CCP to use such brainwashing on Chinese intellectuals since it came to power in 1949. This policy is also used on all Chinese people through the state-controlled media. One replaces the non-Marxist-Leninist thoughts with the Marxist-Leninist thoughts and learns how to use the Marxist methods and viewpoints of "deception-wickedness-violence." In such a way, the CCP controls the thinking of the Chinese people and implements the communist's ideology and demon culture within the Chinese mentality and culture. At the same time, in order to maintain the absolute authority of the CCP, the CCP forcefully controls everything, including people's thoughts. There is no freedom of speech, no freedom of belief and so on.
1. Inhumane political, ideological education and reform
The CCP culture successfully exterminates a human's conscience through ideological education and replaces it with demon nature. It further implements these practices in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP knows it is impossible to kill all Chinese people but instead finds the next best method, that is, to control people's minds. One way is to deceive people so that they dedicate their hearts to the CCP and transform their own minds, out of their own free will. The other way is to forcefully transform people's minds and make them want to serve CCP politics. The CCP started its "ideological reform" movement with Chinese intellectuals, and later extended it to all Chinese people.
Put briefly, the final goal for the CCP's ideological reform is to forcefully unify the peoples' thoughts and maintain unified thoughts, which makes one lose their individuality and independence. They thus become a tool that just tamely takes orders. It also makes people lose their rationality and conscience, which eventually makes one mentally numb and lose their personality. In the end, the ideology of Chinese people is changed from external to internal, from the "old self" to a "new self." The "old self" has a human nature and conscience but the "new self" denies any personal values and respect, to give the CCP absolute power over one's mind, and to replace human nature and conscience with demon nature. The normal thinking and views of the world are thus twisted, such that the CCP's opinions replace one's own judgment.
The CCP's ideological reform devastates human nature, which has made countless righteous souls twisted, distorted, even destroyed; and eventually these souls are "reborn" to accept Marx's lies and acknowledge the lie that "the Party is always wise and great." They do not dare to tell the truth and are full of demon nature.
2. The "Cattle Shed" during the Cultural Revolution
During the Cultural Revolution, the "cattle shed" was used to reform the thoughts of so-called "renegades." Life in the "Cattle Shed" is a book that describes the life of these "renegades," who were also known as the "Bourgeois Counteraction Academic Authority." They were from Beijing University. The book records some of the situations that occurred when they were in the "cattle shed." For example, these "offenders" of the CCP's ideology got up in the morning at a very strictly set time and started their day with "physical exercises" that were physically challenging and exhausting. Every day they were forced to work long hours, without decent food, and sometimes they were physically abused. They were not allowed to walk with their heads held up. Every day they had to recite the "Supreme Instruction," write papers to report their thoughts, listen to an "evening admonishment," and endure attacks.
Under the physical and mental torture and attacks, the human rights of the "renegades" were trampled on. Their souls were extinguished. They all eventually yielded to the torture and abandoned themselves. The boundaries between good and bad, kindness and evil, beauty and ugliness became blurred. Finally, they bowed down to the CCP and handed over their hearts to the CCP. They had to "confess" their "counter-revolutionary thoughts and criminal histories," criticize themselves, negate themselves, break from the "old me," and become the "new me." They had to admit that they deserved the punishment they received, and at the same time, acknowledge the CCP as the "Great Leader" and that the revolution would "save them from the mud of capitalism and revisionism." This is how the CCP has mentally controlled the Chinese people.
3. "Transformation" during the brutal persecution
In order to defame and "eradicate" Falun Gong, Jiang's regime uses the same style of criticizing methods as was used during the Cultural Revolution. They also illegally arrest Falun Gong practitioners nationwide and put them into forced labor camps, detention centers, prisons, mental hospitals and countless "transformation classes" (brainwashing centers). They torture practitioners to force them to give up their belief in Falun Gong. Falun Gong teaches people the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance," "not striking back when beaten, not swearing back when sworn at," and always considering others and doing good deeds. The Jiang regime's criteria for being "transformed" are: one can curse others, one can curse Falun Gong, or one can beat others. In order to deceive the public, the "transformation classes" are often labeled as "Legal Education Center," "Legal Education and Learning Center," "Legal Education School," "Education Transformation Center," "Caring and Loving Center," etc. The "Transformation Class" is often set up by the 610 Office, the police and justice departments. The means used to torture and kill Falun Gong practitioners are much more sophisticated than those used in the "cattle shed." They pretend to be caring for the practitioners, while in fact they are torturing and brainwashing them, implicating families and friends, all at the same time. There are countless victims.
According to the statistics available on the Minghui website [the Chinese-language version of Clearwisdom], at least 23 provinces in China have brainwashing classes that are used to 'transform' Falun Gong practitioners. (The statistics are incomplete. For instance, there currently are no statistics for Qinghai Province.) Among these, the provinces that have the largest brainwashing classes for Falun Gong practitioners are Hebei, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Sichuan, Guangdong, Liaoning, Hubei and Jilin. There are also brainwashing classes in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Ningxia the Guangxi Autonomous Regions, and four of the five Autonomous Regions in China (all except Tibet). Some municipalities such as Beijing and Chongqing have many brainwashing classes. Wuhan City, Guangzhou City and Chengdu City all have large-sized brainwashing classes, which have made these cities the worst persecution areas. In addition, the cities that have had the most death cases from "brainwashing classes" are Baoding City in Hebei Province (at least 5 cases), Weifang City in Shandong Province (at lease 3 cases). The persecution has been very brutal and severe.
On March 4, 2001 Lin Yanzhi, the deputy secretary of the Jilin Provincial CCP Committee, visited the Siping Labor Camp to check on the brainwashing status of Falun Gong practitioners. Lin Yanzhi said, "The strategy for you is to focus on education and "transformation." If you do not give up your belief after one year in detention, we will increase the term to two years. If two years cannot get you to renounce Falun Dafa, we will increase it to three years. If we are unable to change you in three years, we will hold you for 10 years. There are about two million people practicing Falun Gong in China. (Note: this is the number then quoted by Jiang's regime. In fact, the number is much higher.) Only a hundred thousand are stubborn believers in the country. China has 1.2 billion people. We will suppress and execute those who are obstinate. Compared to China's population of 1.2 billion, a hundred thousand is just a small number. Even if we killed all the two million practitioners, it would not exert any influence on the ruling power of the Communist Party. Those who do not change their minds should be ruthlessly beaten, even to death..." (Reported by the Minghui website on June 25, 2001.)
In order to reach the prescribed "transformation rate," the 610 Office and police used all means of evil ways, such as extortion, implicating families and friends, deception, slandering, distributing fabricated lies, hypocrisy and torture. They force practitioners to write "repentance statements," "separation statements," and other statements against Falun Gong. If somebody can't be "transformed," then they can be "beaten to death for nothing," under the policy of "beating to death is regarded as committing suicide, their bodies can be cremated right away." "Beating to death" is one of the "education means" and "gentle treatments" for Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Hou Youfang, 49, was a Falun Gong practitioner and a physics teacher at Xipuo High School in Jinchang City, Gansu Province. She graduated from the Department of Physics at Lanzhou University. She was repeatedly voted "Excellent Teacher" at school. Ms. Hou was taken away by police in August 2002 for distributing truth-clarifying materials to people, and was illegally detained in Group Two, Section 7 of the Pingantai No. 1 Forced Labor Camp of Gansu Province. She was brutally beaten and forced to give up her belief in Falun Gong by the torture of being hung up with her hands cuffed behind her back. [Such torture includes both hands cuffed behind the back, both feet off or only toes touching the ground. One is typically hung onto a basketball support or ceiling beam by the handcuffs. Both hands and arms will soon lose sensory perception.] When Hou Youfang could not endure the torture any longer she agreed, against her conscience, to sign papers saying that she would give up her belief in Falun Gong. However, she reaffirmed her belief in Falun Gong later. Then the police began to torture her relentlessly, forcing her to stand outdoors for a month while denying her sleep indoors. Ms. Hou resolutely refused to write the so-called Repentance Statement. So the police began to beat her cruelly. As a result, her arms and legs were broken. She died on November 29, 2002 because of the torture. It was said that she suffered from internal bleeding. Her rib cage and pelvic cavity were broken as a result of the beating. In order to cover up the facts, the police department cremated her body without notifying her family members and immediately transferred the murderers to another work unit.
This is the "gentle care" and "loving heart" that the CCP propagandizes.
VI. Stepping out of the CCP culture to clearly see the persecution of Falun Gong
The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party have completely exposed the evil nature and characteristics of the CCP. The reason why they could cause such massive destruction to China and to human beings is because there is an evil specter behind it. The evil beings are good at deceiving the public. It uses the evil culture to poison the Chinese people, distort their way of thinking, confuse them and encourage warped and obsessive thinking.
In recognizing the evil nature of the CCP culture and viewing the issue of Falun Gong from the point of view of human nature, human conscience, and the perspective of human rights, one would be able to see that the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong is absolutely unreasonable. It is not only ridiculous, but it also violates the Chinese Constitution and law. It eradicates people's basic human nature and conscience. It tramples human rights on an unprecedented scale. It is a true national catastrophe.
