(Clearwisdom.net) I read on the web that one of the contributing factors to Ms. Gao Rongrong's death was the injection of a substance that damages the central nervous system. Over the past several years, many illegally detained practitioners were fed or injected with psychotropic drugs that can cause severe damage to their physical and psychological health.
Most people have good reason to fear psychotropic drugs. We are cultivators, however, and our understanding of the material world goes far beyond that of everyday people. Master Li said, "Karma is made in the secular society and is composed of mundane substances, so it cannot reach such a micro state. However, at the time when the human life is made, the substances are extremely microcosmic." (Zhuan Falun II) "Your origin is your true self" (Lecture at the Fa-Conference in Canada, Toronto, May 23, 1999). Master Li protects every Falun Dafa practitioner, so those psychotropic drugs don't work on practitioners. Why then were the practitioners harmed? I believe it's because we haven't studied the Fa enough and don't understand the principles well enough, and the evil took advantage of our loopholes. Master Li pointed out to us in "Expounding on the Fa":
"For a long period of time the sentient beings in Dafa, especially the disciples, have had a misunderstanding of the Fa at various levels regarding xinxing improvement. Whenever a tribulation comes, you do not see it with the side of your original nature but view it completely with your human side. Evil demons then capitalize on this point and inflict endless interference and damage, leaving students in long-term tribulations. As a matter of fact, this results from an inadequate understanding of the Fa by your human side. You have humanly restrained your divine side; in other words, you have restrained the parts that have been successfully cultivated and have prevented them from doing Fa-rectification." (Essentials for Further Advancement)
When faced with the persecution of Falun Dafa and practitioners, our original natures should participate in Fa-rectification.
While I was detained at a brainwashing center, the evil put psychotropic medication in my water, though I was unaware of it at first. After I drank the water my head was spinning and I started to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate it. I remembered Master Li's words from Zhuan Falun,
"If that attachment is relinquished, that material itself does not have any effect. What really interferes with a person is the attachment."
Then I continued to send forth righteous thoughts. I very quickly recovered.
I would like to share with practitioners who fear psychotropic medications Master's teaching from an article by Minghui editors, "About Psychotropics."
November 24, 2000
Recently there have been frequent reports that persons in the Public Security Bureau in Mainland China have administered psychotropics (mind altering drugs) to Falun Gong students. It is reported that as a result of this some students have done wrong things that violate the xinxing criteria for cultivators.
With regard to this, Master said that he "disbelieve[s] that psychotropics could play this kind of role. Out of their own fears, some of our students used this as an excuse for not passing the tests they should pass. If psychotropics could really play such a role and if [the students] have done seriously wrong things under the influence of the drugs, they should work even harder to inform people of the truth so as to make up for what's been lost." (Boldface words in quotes are Master's original words.)
This makes us realize yet again that cultivation is extremely serious. In the face of major trials, only by holding ourselves to strict standards can we pass the tests and improve. Only then can we be worthy of the opportunity to practice cultivation amidst the Fa-rectification and of Master's great compassion and his painstaking effort to save us.
