(Clearwisdom.net) On Sunday, August 28, 2005, renowned Denmark lawyer Tyge Trier filed a lawsuit on behalf of Falun Gong practitioners against Jia Chunwang, procurator general of CCP Supreme People's Procuratorate and one of the central figures in China's Gestapo-like 610 Office -- for crimes contravening the UN Convention Against Torture. Jia Chunwang was sued the same day he arrived in Denmark to partake in an international conference for prosecutors being held in Copenhagen.
Copenhagen Post reported on August 29 that Denmark has been asked to
investigate allegations against China's procurator-general of torture and human
rights breaches against thousands of Falun Gong members.

Jia will be in Denmark to attend and speak at an international conference of
prosecutors in Copenhagen. The Danish chapter of meditation group Falun Gong is
taking advantage of his trip here to request Danish authorities to investigate
his alleged persecution of the group in China, national daily Berlingske Tidende
reported.
According to the report, Falun Gong reported Jia to police on Sunday. Their
request to investigate Jia will be handled by the Public Prosecutor for Special
International Crimes.
The group claims that Jia, as the former minister of public security, is
responsible for persecution of the movement in China.
"Jia Chunwang had the overall responsibility for the so-called 610 office,
which is created with the sole purpose of wiping out Falun Gong. Therefore, he
is responsible for what has happened, and he should therefore be
prosecuted," Falun Gong chairman Marco Hsu said.
He said the United Nations estimated that more than 3000 Falun Gong members had
been tortured to death in the last six years, while more than 6000 had received
sentences of more than 18 years in prison. Thousands had been tortured and
persecuted since China's 1999 decision to ban Falun Gong, which claims to count
70 to 100 million Chinese in its ranks.
Legal consultant for the group, Tyge Trier, said to national daily Berlingske
Tidende that Denmark, according to the UN torture convention, had an obligation
to conduct an investigation.
