1. [Baoji City, Shannxi Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Ru Hongxia Has Become Emaciated Due to Severe Torture in the Xi'an City Women's Prison

Practitioner Ms. Ru Hongxia from Baoji City was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center set up in the Qunli Hostel, Baoji City on October 14, 2005. She was transferred to the Baoji County Detention Center in November 2005. Personnel from the Baoji County Court sentenced her to three years of imprisonment in April 2006, as reported on the Minghui website on July 4, 2006. Ms. Ru's family members appealed to the Baoji City Intermediate Court, but the Court rejected the appeal and retained the original verdict. Ms. Ru was sent to the Xi'an City Women's Prison on September 14, 2006 for further persecution.

Ms. Ru Hongxia has been tortured so severely in the past year that she has become extremely thin. A physical exam revealed malnutrition and anemia after she was sent to the Xi'an facility; however, prison personnel still put her in the prison's No. 9 Ward.

Personnel from the Yongji County Police Department arrested practitioner Ms. Zhou Yanjuan and her husband, Mr. Wang Jianguo, at home on the morning of October 5, 2006. They are now being held at the Yongji County Detention Center.

3. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Liu Fengyun Has Been Held for Three Months; Practitioner Ms. Jiang Yan Forced to Leave Home to Avoid Persecution

Practitioner Ms. Liu Fengyun is suffering persecution at the Dehui City's Detention Center after personnel from the Dehui City National Security Team arrested her. Ms. Liu had severe anemia before she started practicing Falun Gong. The practice had completely healed her illness. She decided to leave home to avoid further persecution. Even her teenage child, Bai He, was implicated. To date, she has been held for more than three months. She has become extremely weak. Personnel from the Dehui City Police Department are refusing to allow her family to visit her.

A white van blocked the front door of practitioner Ms. Jiang Yan's home. Two black sedans were parked outside her back door at around 7:00 p.m. on October 1, 2006. Two people got out of the van and broke into her home. They ransacked the place and confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun. Ms. Jiang was not at home and thus avoided arrest. She has decided to leave home to avoid further persecution.

Some people pounded on practitioner Mr. Chen Lei's door at around 3:20 p.m. on September 29, 2006. His child opened the door. Four men and a woman came in. One of the men claimed to be an officer from the Dafangli Police Station. They confiscated a desktop computer, a notebook computer, two printers, three cell phones, over 3,000 yuan in cash (the family's living allowance), Grandmother's 12,000 yuan retirement savings, and some jewelry. At present, two children--an eight-year-old and a two-year-old--and a 90-year-old grandmother are left at home without care. It's now confirmed that Chen Lei is being held at the Daowai District Police Department's detention center.

Practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo's wife and daughter went to the No. 4 Team of the Jidong Prison in Tangshan City to request medical bail for Mr. Yang, who was in critical condition on October 6, 2006. However, they didn't get permission after waiting for a whole day.

Yang Jianpo's two brothers drove to the prison to visit him the morning of October 8, 2006. Since they did not know the way, they asked practitioner Liu Xianglong to be the navigator. Personnel from the Jidong Prison told them that visits should take place in the afternoon, but then informed the Langfang City 610 Office. Thus, personnel from the prison arrested practitioner Mr. Liu Xianglong and sent him to Langfang City the afternoon of October 8, 2006.

Personnel from the Liangxiang Town Police Department arrested practitioner Ms. An Baoyuan from Liangxiang Town in the Fangshan District and ransacked her home on August 16, 2006. She was sent to the Yuguanying Brainwashing Center on the second day. The authorities brainwashed for a week and then transferred her to the district detention center.

They searched the houses without showing their identifications or a warrant.

Personnel of Rushankou Town Police Department arrested her from her home on August 31, 2006. Currently, she is being held at the detention center in the Rushan City Police Department for persecution.

Practitioners Ms. Cui and Ms. Yu Jing, mother and daughter, were arrested at Kangjia Village, Rushankou Town, in the first half of 2006. Practitioner Ms. Gao Xiumin from South Tangjia Village was arrested at Xia Village. The three practitioners have been sentenced to forced labor and sent to the Wangcun Women's Force Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province.

22. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Follow-up on the Arrest of Practitioner Mr. Cong Wei

Several people, including non-Falun Gong practitioners, that talked to practitioner Mr. Cong Wei on the phone were arrested following his arrest. According to an insider, one person from the Ganjingzi District who had work contact with Mr. Cong was arrested and detained after speaking to Cong Wei on the phone.

23. [Ezhou City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Ms. Pan Zhenghui Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Practitioner Ms. Pan Zhenghui from Ezhou City, Hubei Province, left the city to avoid arrest. A "collaborator" had reported her. Officials from Ezhou City 610 Office and Xishan Police Department affiliated with Ezhou Steel Company arrested her in March or April 2006 in Huanghsi, Hubei Province, and took her back to Ezhou City.

Ms. Pan was released on medical parole from the No. 1 Detention Center in Ezhou City in September 2006 after a sudden rise in her blood pressure. She is about to be sentenced to three years in prison by Huangshi City 610 Office agents in Hubei Province.

24. [Sichuan Province] Jiangyou City Government Holds Brainwashing Session to Persecute Practitioners

The Jiangyou City government dispatched numerous officials who broke into the homes of practitioners on September 1, 2006, to arrest them. They sent the practitioners to a brainwashing session held at a hotel affiliated with the 624 Research Institute, located in a remote valley in Jiangyou City.

We know that five practitioners have been sent to the brainwashing center: Mr. Zhang Qizhong; Ms. Zhou Wenyu and her husband from Wudu Town, who worked at Pangchang Steel Co. Ltd.; Ms. He Deli from Qinglian Town; Ms. Tian Guangyu from Dakang Town; and Ms. Fu Huaqiong from Jiangyou City, who is in her 40s and a retiree from Pangchang Steel Co. Ltd. She was the only arrested practitioner younger than 50.

The brainwashing session lasted 19 days. Practitioner Mr. Zhang Qizhong left with the power of his righteous thoughts one evening before the end of the class. The officials panicked and launched a fanatic search. They repeatedly researched his relatives' homes and threatened them. They forced his relatives to sign documents to agree to help them arrest him.

Jiangyou City government held another brainwashing session in June 2006. Dafa practitioners Mr. Du Zhijun, Mr. Wei Chaohai, and Ms. Liang Hua's mother were sent to the center. Practitioner Tian Guangyu was sent to the brainwashing center twice, in June and September.

Practitioner Mr. Qi Manjun was reported by someone who was deceived by CCP propaganda and arrested by local police when clarifying the truth in Yongchang County. The police searched his home and confiscated Dafa books and materials, a TV, VCDs, and a motorcycle. His family got the motorcycle back. Mr. Qi is still being held, and no one is allowed to visit him.

Police officers in Zhalantun City, Neimenggu Province, arrested more than 30 practitioners on March 27, 2006. Nine practitioners were sent to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp. Practitioner Ms. Zhang Fenglan has been incarcerated at the Arongqi Detention Center near Zhalantun for more than seven months.

Practitioners Mr. Zhao Guibao, Kong, and Ms. Chen Yan from the Baiyun District in Guiyang City were arrested on October 3, 2006. Participating in the arrest were local police. It happened as the practitioners were clarifying the truth in the Hongfeng Lake area in Qingzhen City. Police from Qingzhen City ordered Baiyun District police to ransack the three practitioners' homes, which took place on October 5. These three practitioners are most likely being held at Qingzhen City Police Department Detention Center.

29. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Mr. Jin Xingwang Arrested

More than 20 officials from Shenzhen City's 610 Office and from the Nanshan District Police Department went to practitioner Mr. Jin Xingwang's home. They tricked him into opening the door by saying they were checking residence permits. When they went inside they arrested Mr. Jin and took him away. They also took a Dafa book and an MP4 player that belonged to his daughter. It was learned that Mr. Jin is now being held at the No.1 Detention Center in the Nanshan District.

Jin Xingwang's wife, Ms. Cheng Aiyang, also a practitioner, was arrested and detained in 2005. Their daughter is attending high school.

Many Shenzhen City practitioners have been arrested or have disappeared lately.

30. [Jian, Jilin Province] Persecution of Practitioner Ms. Li Yuanmei

Practitioner Ms. Li Yuanmei, 52 years old, had worked in the Administration Section of the Jian City Highway Bureau. She began practicing Dafa in March 1997. Officers from the Qinghe Police Department had arrested her in 2001 on her way to another practitioner's home. She was detained for 15 days. Her employers then no longer paid her salary.

Officers from the Huadian Town Police Department in Qinghe Town threatened her many times. They harassed her and pressured her to give up her belief. They even froze her husband's salary and compelled her husband to divorce her. Ms. Li's husband brutally beat her several times and once even broke her rib(s).

Cui Guixiang and other officers from Huadian Town Police Department in Jian City ransacked Ms. Li Yuanmei's home on the evening of December 28, 2001. They took her Dafa books, a recorder and audio cassettes, and sentenced her to one year of forced labor. She was held at Jian City Detention Center, where she was beaten for doing the Falun Gong exercises. She was shackled and placed in a cold, windowless, empty warehouse in the winter for seven days. The police also poured ice-cold water on her bed and refused to let her sleep.

The guards at the labor camp tried to brainwash her and sent several collaborators to torture her. The collaborators injected Li Yuanmei with a toxic substance when she tried to do the Falun Gong exercises, after which she started to have hallucinations. When her family took her home 15 days later, she could not speak or walk. Her husband had to feed her.
