The Nanhu Forced Labour Camp is one of the primary places in Anhui province where Falun Dafa practitioners are persecuted. Many Falun Gong practitioners from Anhui province were sent to this camp for illegal forced labor. Some practitioners lost their lives here due to torture and forced labor.
Mr. Yang Haisheng, a practitioner from Chizhou, was sent to the "adjusting" team in 2004. Because he practiced the Falun Dafa exercises at night, he was confined and inhumanly tortured. Afterwards, Haisheng Yang could not even stand steadily and was sent to a hospital. Another practitioner, Ms. Li Aiyun was severely beaten and required stitches.
Mr. Lu Qinghai, a practitioner from Shitai County, Guichi City was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Because Mr. Lu would not renounce his belief in Falun Dafa, the guards hung him in the air and forced his hands onto the three statements. From December 2004 through the middle of May 2005, Mr. Lu Qinghai was subjected to the "Adjusting Team." During this phase, the police handcuffed him for seven lengthy periods of time (a kind of torture). Once it lasted 10 days. The time periods Mr. Lu Qinghai was handcuffed were:
February 8 - 17, 2005 (10 days)
March 13 - 19, 2005 (7 days)
April 8 - 13, 2005 (6 days)
June 19 - 26, 2005 (7 days)
August 7 - 15, 2005 (9 days)
September 11 - 18, 2005 (7 days)
December 9 - 17, 2005 (9 days)
The perpetrators who beat Lu Qinghai are Hu Jianbing, Li Yingfa, Wang Xiaofeng, Lu Yun, Hua Zhongxin, and Jiang Yongguang. Because he was forced to stand for excruciating periods of time, Mr. Lu's legs swelled to the size of water buckets. His urine was the color of iron rust. Sometimes he had diarrhea for very long time. From the torture, he lost more than 15 kg (33 lbs).
