(Clearwisdom.net) The following are details of the persecution of several Falun Dafa practitioners in Zaoyang City, Hubei Province.
Mr. Zhang Mingqi, 40 years old, was formerly a Chinese teacher in the No. 5 Middle School. In December 1999, he went to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa and was illegally detained for over three months. Later on, he was sent to an elementary school in Ding Village. In September 2000, Mr. Zhang went to appeal for Dafa again and was illegally sentenced to three years and subsequently dismissed from his job.
Ms. Kang Shiying, 56 years old, Group 4, Dongyuan, Beicheng District, was detained for two months for appealing for justice for Falun Dafa in 2000. In March and April 2003, Ms. Kang was sentenced to four years.
Mr. Quan Dong, over 20 years old, is Ms. Kang Shiying's son. He was illegally detained for two months for appealing for Dafa in 2000. In March and April 2003, Quan Dong was sentenced to three years.
Ms. Wang Zewei, over 30 years old, was formerly a mathematics teacher at the No. 5 Middle School. In 2001, she was illegally sent to a forced labor camp for one year. In 2003, Ms. Wang was sentenced to four years and was dismissed from her job.
Ms. Wang Kailan, over 40 years old, was formerly a senior nurse at the No. 1 Hospital. She was dismissed from her job in 2000 because she was a Falun Gong practitioner. In 2001, Ms. Wang was sent to forced labor for one year, which was later extended to another year. While in the Shayang Forced Labor Camp, all ten of her fingers were nailed to the wall. Her whole body turned black and blue. She regained consciousness after they poured cold water on her body. As a result of the abuse she experienced at the labor camp, Ms. Wang could not sleep while lying on her back and had to sleep on her stomach.
Mr. Chen Daoyuan, over 40 years old, was formerly the assistant section head of the Inspection Department of the former Cotton Parent Company. In 2000, he was dismissed from his job due to his appeals for Falun Gong. He was detained for two months.
Mr. Zhang Shangju, over 40 years old, was the assistant section head of the Inspection Department of the former Cotton Parent Company. In 2000, he was dismissed from his job due to his appeals for Falun Gong. He was detained for two months and forced to attend brainwashing sessions.
Mr. Wang Yaqi, over 40 years old, is an official from the National Tax Bureau. In 2000, he was illegally detained for two months due to his appeals for Falun Gong. The authorities wrongly brought his salary level down two grades and deducted a half year of his salary and only gave him 90 yuan for basic living expenses. In April 2002, Mr. Wang was detained for three months by Anlu City Police Station.
Ms. Li Yonghua, over 30 years old, Wang Yaqi's wife, was formerly an English teacher at the No. 5 Middle School. In 2000, she was detained for two months due to her appeals for Falun Gong. The authorities wrongly brought her salary down one level and fined her 10,000 yuan.
