At 4 p.m. on February 11, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Tai Hui was arrested by policemen from the Mengla County Police Department on the train from Mengla County to Kunming City, Yunnan Province and has been detained in the county police department.
At 10:30 a.m. the next day, more than twenty policemen stormed into the home of Ms. Tai Hui's elder sister, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Tai Yan, and ransacked the place. They found nothing that they wanted, but they handcuffed Ms. Tai Yan, and arrested her along with her mother Li Qiongfen (also a practitioner). On the same morning, another Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Jiang Hongling from the same county, was also arrested and her computer was taken away. More than ten fellow practitioners in the same county have had their homes ransacked and have been interrogated. Ms. Tai Yan and her mother Li Qiongfen were released at midnight after being interrogated.
At around 3:30 p.m. on February 21, 2006, County State Security Agents Shu Jie (gender unknown), and Hu Qiaobin (male) went to Ms. Tai Yan's workplace (County Business Bureau), arrested her again, interrogated her for 12 hours, and then detained her for 15 days. She was transferred from the detention center to a drug rehabilitation center, and then sentenced to two years of forced labor without any legal procedures. She was sent to the Dabanqiao Labor Camp in Kunming City at 2 p.m. on April 4, 2006.
Ms. Jing Hongling has also been sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to Dabanqiao Labor Camp along with Ms. Tai Yan. Another practitioner, Ms. Yang Xuchun, has also been sentenced to two years of forced labor.
