(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday May 13, 2006, on SNP square in Bratislava, Falun Gong practitioners held an activity to celebrate the 14th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Gong to the public. Falun Gong was first made public by Master Li Hongzhi in Changchun City, China on May 13, 1992. In the same year, the China Qigong Scientific Research Association, after a thorough study of the practice, fully acknowledged the exercises, the principles, and the efficacy of Falun Gong. It accepted Falun Gong as one of the best qigong schools and also offered much help and support in promoting Falun Gong.
From May 13, 1992 to December 21, 1994, invited by the local Qigong Scientific Research Associations all around China, Mr. Li Hongzhi held fifty six seminars, lecturing on the principles and teaching the exercises. Each seminar was about nine days in length, and tens of thousands of students attended.
This peaceful time period of spreading Falun Gong abruptly ended in 1999, when Jiang Zemin, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader at that time, banned Falun Gong and started persecuting practitioners. By 2006, there have been over 2,600 documented deaths due to this persecution and more and more atrocities continue to be exposed. Lately the world was shocked by information about the existence of concentration camps where Falun Gong practitioners are held and their internal organs are used for transplantations.
People came to find out more about Falun Gong and many signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution
Passersby learned the history of Falun Gong and the facts about the persecution. Some signed a petition against the concentration camps and calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
The children were also happy because the organizers passed out balloons of various colors. A cameraman from the Slovak TV came to film the event for the evening news.
