(Clearwisdom.net) On February 12, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Pingzhen disappeared after celebrating at a relative's birthday party. The next day, her family members searched everywhere but found no trace of her. On the afternoon of February 14, Ms. Chen's second son, Liu Zhenchen, a deputy chief at the Hedong Police Station, saw a public notice: "Unknown female body found. Identification needed (photo of the deceased attached)." It had been issued by the Hegang City Public Security Bureau. He recognized his mother in the picture and there was no doubt in his mind that his mother had been murdered.
In April 2002, the local police arrested Ms. Chen Pingzhen, 58, a Falun Dafa practitioner of Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province. The guards at the Hegang City Second Detention Center beat her with a special kind of plastic tubing, hitting her legs 38 times. She became debilitated. After that she was taken to the Xigemu Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City for a two-year sentence. She refused to cooperate with the guards and continued her cultivation in Dafa. As a result, she suffered brutal torture, such as being made to sit for a long time on a small stool, having both hands tied behind her back to a long piece of wood, being deprived of sleep, and so on. Within 14 months her health deteriorated to the point that she was granted medical parole for treatment at home.

Sources in the know said that the birthday party was held at the Quan Fu Restaurant (picture1), owned by Chen Pingzhen's daughter. At the party, Ms. Chen "clarified the truth" of Falun Dafa to non-practitioners and also gave her son's mother-in-law some Dafa flyers.

According to the Hedong police, who are responsible for this case, they were notified by the Xing Wang Hotel that a man about 5'7" carried the victim into the hotel. He claimed that the victim had had too much to drink and that he was getting some food for her. He promised to return within a short time and left 50 yuan but did not provide identification or registration. He never returned.
Hotel staff claimed to have found the victim dead in her room the next day. The hotel owner stressed that the victim was still alive when she was brought in. The police in Hedong City tried to frame some Falun Gong practitioners but did not succeed. Then they changed their story and claimed that she had died in a traffic accident. Given this change in stories, the family was unwilling to have her body cremated five days after her death.
The coroner mentioned that he had gone to the hotel bedroom and found a strong smell of alcohol, but the autopsy found no alcohol in her stomach or mouth. The coroner did find the following: 700 ml of darkened blood, one side of a kidney was damaged, both corners of her mouth had blood stains, her neck had some highly visible bloody marks, one side of her face was bruised and swollen, her hands and feet looked purple, and sperm was found inside her vagina. All her money, valuables, and truth clarification materials were gone.

The coroner certified that she did not commit suicide nor did she drink alcohol nor was she poisoned. The story about being carried into the hotel was fabricated. The fact is that the Xing Wang Hotel and the Xing'an Police Station (picture 3) are in the same building, and they have a close relationship.
With regard to the sperm, Ms. Chen's husband said that he had not had sexual relations with his wife for more than three months, but the police didn't even bother to ask her husband about this important fact.
Her second son, Liu Zhenchen, asked the city public security bureau to immediately set up the case and start an investigation. The public security bureau has been very slow to respond. When Mr. Liu kept urging them to start investigating, he was transferred to the Xing'an Police Station. He was demoted to the job of a regular detective. When his relatives asked about his mother's murder, he appeared to be uncomfortable and asked that they please not ask any further questions until the investigation was over.
We have our suspicions, given the many loose ends and the fabrications. The police either cannot solve or do not want to solve this murder case. We suspect that the police killed her because she was spreading the truth of Falun Dafa.
