(Clearwisdom.net) Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioner Liu Ding went missing a few days ago after she left the hospital in Beijing where her husband was hospitalized. On the next day, state security personnel seized a computer and other things from her home. Her family members later were notified by the police that Liu Ding was detained for distributing Falun Gong leaflets in a residential area. They have sought help from the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
The victim, Liu Ding, aged 66, had been teaching in Beijing for 30 years and came to Hong Kong with her daughter for residency in 1991. She served in a government primary school in 1995 and retired in 2000. In 2001, she flew to Beijing to take care of her husband after he was paralyzed.
Liu's daughter said: on the afternoon of 6 June, her mother brought a meal box to Beijing Guangan Men Wai Hospital for her father and went missing immediately after she left at about 1900 [local time]. The next morning, a group of a dozen police and state security personnel raided Liu Ding's home and took away a computer, books, CD-ROMs and some maintenance tools belonging to Liu's son.
Liu's son was later notified by the police that Liu was detained and under investigation for distributing Falun Gong leaflets in a residential area near the hospital on that night. It has been learned that Liu Ding was detained in Beijing Xuanwu District's public security sub-bureau. Liu's family members in Hong Kong have already asked the Immigration Department for help.
