(Clearwisdom.net) On July 14th, right after Li Lanqing, a leader in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), visited Singapore the Singapore government charged nine local Falun Gong practitioners with "gathering illegally" for peaceful truth-clarification activities that occurred in October 2005. Several Chinese news media, including Xinhua News Agency, quickly reported the charges to help the CCP defamation of Falun Gong. Obviously, the Singapore government was attempting to ingratiate itself with the CCP and Li Lanqing by assisting the CCP to extend its persecution of Falun Gong outside of China.
Before this incident, the Singapore government had been treating Falun Gong practitioners unfairly with such actions as revoking their work permits, forcing them to leave the country, and using trumped-up charges to take practitioners to court . In the mean time, Singapores major newspapers Straights Times, United Morning, and United Evening News, published a series of articles slandering Falun Gong, which in turn augmented the governments accusations of Falun Gong practitioners.
Li Lanqing is the former leader of the 610 Office an agency formed by the CCP solely to persecute Falun Gong. Like the Nazi Gestapo, the "610 Office" has branches all over China and specializes in eliminating the targeted "dissidents." It operates outside of the Constitution and controls the legal system with coercion and bribery to brutally persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The Singapore governments abetting the former leader of such a terrorist organization and suppressing innocent and benevolent Falun Gong cultivators is contrary to the honest and non-corruptive international image Singapore tries to promote.
Ten years ago, Falun Gong registered as a legal organization in Singapore. It expanded quickly without any interference from the government until July 1999, when the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong in China. After that, the Singapore government changed its attitude towards Falun Gong completely. Every violation of Falun Gong practitioners human right in Singapore is the result of the CCP using pressure, coupled with monetary enticements, on Singapores top leaders. From 1999 on, it seems that Singapore became a colony of China and Singapores laws became CCP weapons.
The local cultivation environment deteriorates as the CCPs dark influence continues to be felt in Singapore. Group exercises and Fa-spreading activities have been interfered with and restricted by the government. The media in Singapore repeats the CCP lies about and slander of Falun Gong. The police use such charges as "illegally gathering" or "disturbing order" to detain and prosecute Falun Gong practitioners. Recently the Singapore Government has tried to deport Falun Gong practitioners, ban all truth-clarification activities, and to take the practitioners who distributed truth-clarification materials to court. Such harassment occurred right after it was reported on May 28th that Li Lanqing was going to visit Singapore.
At least 2926 Falun Gong practitioners have died as a direct result of the CCP-planned persecution; 500,000 to one million practitioners have been illegally imprisoned, sent to forced labor camps or brainwashing centers; and over 500 people have been sentenced to prison terms of 18 years or more. The CCP has used every persecution method imaginable including murder, over 100 brutal torture methods, rape, psychiatric abuse, isolation, discrimination, verbal assaults and abuse, hate-mongering, and injections with nerve damaging drugs.
In early March, several witnesses bravely came forward and exposed the CCPs heinous crime of setting up concentration camps that housed practitioners until their organs were needed by a matched patient. Their organs are taken, a process that kills the practitioners, and sold at enormous profits. The Falun Gong practitioners bodies are then cremated to destroy the evidence of surgery. On July 6th, Mr. David Kilgour, former Member of Canadian Parliament and former Secretary of State (Asia Pacific) and Mr. David Matas, respected international human rights lawyer, published the results of their two-month long independent investigation into the allegations of organ harvesting in China. Their report concludes that such crimes are indeed occurring. We now know that this brutal killing for profit has been happening for several years and that it continues today. The live organ harvesting was cited in the report as "a form of evil we have yet to see on this planet."
During the seven years the CCP has been persecuting Falun Gong, the practice has spread to almost 80 countries and been given over 1400 awards. Practitioners throughout the world continue to use banners, peaceful appeals, candle light vigils, torture exhibits, press conferences, gala performances, and other methods to persistently tell people about the persecution of Falun Gong and to waken peoples consciences. Many officials and members of governments in the democratic countries frequently petition the CCP to stop persecuting Falun Gong.
Early this year, several congressional and parliamentary bills were passed and legal judgments were handed down against members of the CCP regime in Europe and North America. All of these supported Falun Gong and condemned the CCP. The city of San Francisco passed a resolution condemning the persecution of Falun Gong on January 31. The resolution said that Falun Gong practitioners in San Francisco should not be persecuted and its municipal government, agencies, and human rights committees should protect Falun Gong practitioners rights and safety. The Administrative Court of Dresden Germany declared on February 1 that the police acted illegally when they searched a Falun Gong practitioner for identification, recorded her personal information, and made her leave during former CCP head Jiang Zemins visit on April 11th, 2002.
The 46 member countries of PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) passed a resolution condemning the crimes of totalitarian communist regimes in Strasbourg, France on January 25. The resolution included a debate on the report "The Need for International Condemnation of the Crimes of Totalitarian Communist Regimes," whose explanatory memorandum pointed out that communist regimes have violated human rights on a large-scale from the very beginning, including killing, using concentration camps, causing famines, and using brutal torture, slave labor, and other tactics to terrorize people. To seize and maintain power, communist regimes not only kill individuals and conduct regional slaughters, but also use crime like a state-machine.
Now, despite the exposure, worldwide condemnation of the CCP crimes against humanity, and mounting demands for investigation and punishment of the evildoers by international society, the Singapore government tries to accuse Falun Gong practitioners of committing a crime when they were peacefully and rationally letting people know about the CCPs relentless persecution. We solemnly point out that the Singapore government has left an infamous mark on history by persecuting Falun Gong just to please the CCP. If Singapores government continues to ingratiate itself with the CCP, stands by the side of evil, or even unjustly sentences Falun Gong practitioners, it will be denounced by the people.
The Singapore government should also recognize the wave of people in China renouncing their Party memberships since the Epoch Times published Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party at the end of 2004. The number has exceeded 12 million and increases at the rate of 30,000 per day.
Throughout history, whoever follows universal principles and wins peoples hearts will thrive, and whoever commits evil will eventually be brought to justice. The Singapore government will only bring disaster to its country and people if it insists on being an accomplice to the CCP persecution of Falun Gong. It will share the CCPs infamous human rights records. We hope the Singapore government will put justice and conscience first and stop its wrongdoing. That would be a wise decision for the future of the Singapore people.
