(Clearwisdom.net) From May 18th to May 21st, 2006, the Austrian Arts and Cultural Society ARS CARA, arranged in Schottwien, a small village in Lower Austria, an international art exhibition "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," under the theme "Art for Human Rights".
The "Old Doctors House," built in the 1600's, served as an elegant venue for the twenty pieces of artwork. There were many visitors during the opening ceremony, at which the song "Coming for You" was sung by the Austrian section of the European Choir.
The sixteenth century arches displayed the drawings with a special ambiance |
Mayor Walter Polleres thanked the practitioners for a successful evening, "The idea and the willingness to bring such exhibitions to the public is very important for todays society! I wish you all the best and great success!"
Below are some quotes from the guest book:
Human rights are universal! We cannot tolerate violations of human rights anywhere in the world. These pictures of the torture victims bear witness and charge us with the responsibility to bring such human rights violations to an end!"
"I had not heard of Falun Gong and the persecution that practitioners of this practice suffer before I attended this exhibition. As a believer, who clearly understands the importance of religion for the human race, I will include those who practice Falun Gong, and are suffering persecution, in my prayers!"
"An awe-inspiring exhibition, a melodious musical accompaniment! It is shocking that we still find today such cruel torture methods that those who dont fit the mold have to suffer!"
A project that makes one reflect on much, especially that something like this still happens today and is allowed. I wish you much success and that open eyes and ears will come your way!"
"Unfortunately, the public hears little about such torture incidents. We hope that this project helps brings this information to the public and will open the eyes of this world to such wretched deeds!"
Many visitors shared their thoughts in the guest book, which was available at each exhibition |
Practitioners gained a new understanding at this exhibit. The size of the exhibition hall is not what is important, but how much one can open the hearts and minds of the people.
