(Clearwisdom.net) In order to do well and learn from each other in our ongoing truth clarification at different tourist sites in Taiwan, on September 17, 2006, the Taichung Volunteer Assistance Center held a one-day Fa study and experience sharing for practitioners involved in truth clarification at tourist sites throughout Taiwan. More than eight hundred practitioners participated in this activity at Wen Hsin Elementary School .
A practitioner shares how to display truth-clarification photo boards and introductory materials at tourist sites
A practitioner from the National Palace Museum tourist site said that participating in several experience sharing gatherings in the past helped him to find solutions to problems that have occurred at many tourist sites. After he contacted the management department at the local tourist site, he learned that the reason that the site did not allow practitioners to hold truth-clarification activities there was that the content of the truth-clarification materials and the practitioners¡¦ dress were not in harmony with the overall ambiance of the tourist site. The practitioners realized then that the more we understand the tourist site, the better we can do truth clarification there. The National Palace Museum in Taiwan has special historical meaning, as it has preserved the essence of traditional culture and arts inherited from the five-thousand-year-old history of China. People from the mainland who come there just to want to view the historical relics that they are unable to see in the mainland. So the practitioners rearranged their display boards and introductory materials, borrowing ideas and designs from other tourist sites to fit in with the general atmosphere of this particular tourist site.
Once, it rained during our truth clarification activities and a Chinese tourist ran over and asked if we were Falun Gong practitioners. He said he had been to many places around the world, and even if it was snowing, he could see practitioners continue doing the exercises without stop. He asked, "Why do you stop practicing when it rains?" We realized then we should do well in our every action and word, because many people are observing us.
A practitioner shared his experiences of clarifying the truth at a tourist site. At first, he only went to the National Palace Museum to clarify the truth on holidays. But during weekdays, he was unable to even spare thirty minutes going there as he has to go to work every morning at 10:00 a.m. He then distributed truth-clarification materials at a subway station near his practice site, but the administrator of the subway station always drove him away. He thought that he might not have sufficient righteous thoughts. Later, he was still determined to distribute truth-clarification materials at the subway station. At the beginning, he was afraid of being driven away, so he put the materials in his backpack. After realizing his attachment to fear, he let go of it and clarified the truth calmly even when he saw the police.
A practitioner from Kaohsiung shared his experience of broadcasting the truth about Falun Gong to Chinese tourists. Once, when there were 50 tour buses with Chinese tourists from Xizi Bay, local practitioners discussed how to help these people from the mainland learn about the true situation of Falun Dafa without feeling any pressure. They fitted a car with speakers in order to broadcast the truth about Falun Gong. Many Chinese people listened quietly. Some asked for truth-clarification materials on their own initiative, recorded the broadcast message and took photos of the car. The practitioners had never met with such a situation. If the Chinese tourists could bring back what they saw and heard to their relatives and friends, many more people would soon learn about the truth about Falun Gong.
A practitioner from the Erluanbi tourist site shared his experience. On several occasions, before going to the tourist site to clarify the truth, he would struggle in his mind. Many attachments popped up, such as, what will be weather like.. I still have so many things at hand to deal with... But his righteous thoughts told him, "I go there to save people, how could I not go?" So he immediately went to the tourist site. There are many touching stories at the tourist site. For example, when the practitioners were very busy and someone asked what this was all about, other tourists would explain it to them. Tourists who have learned about the truth would clarify the truth to others who inquired. The local tour guides also support the practitioners.
Practitioners from a tourist site for sightseeing at a night fair in Kaohsiung shared how they try to think of others first. Some tour guides are friendly to the practitioners, but some not. A practitioner shared, "Once when I was sending forth righteous thoughts, the tour guide drove me away. I said to him, 'Thank you for reminding me.' He then changed to being very friendly. Once, when Chinese tourists on the tour bus wanted to read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, the tour guide brought them several copies. I once met a driver who was very aggressive. He told us not to distribute our materials. He said he threw away all the Falun Gong materials left on his bus. I was very upset upon hearing this. All these materials were made with the money practitioners have saved from their daily use and they were made to save people. I told him, 'Please don¡¦t throw away Falun Gong materials if you get them in the future; I¡¦ll buy them from you.' As a result, the drive felt embarrassed, and his attitude relaxed."
During the sharing, practitioners expressed that they strive to use the greatest compassion and wisdom to do well in truth-clarification work. They will continue to do their best to help predestined people learn the facts about Falun Dafa and to leave no regrets in the process of truth clarification.
