(Clearwisdom.net) The Eighth World Assembly of Religions for Peace was held in late August in Kyoto. More than 800 religious leaders and 1200 other representatives from some 100 countries attended. Some Falun Gong practitioners from the city of Kinki, Japan, also attended the conference. They took the opportunity to tell many assembly attendees about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) appalling atrocities of harvesting organs from living practitioners.
Learning about the atrocities, a conference delegate from Africa was shocked. He repeatedly stressed that such atrocities are prohibited by any religion and that he would let more people in his country know about these crimes.
Two Italian representatives, one catholic and one protestant, said that they knew there was no religious freedom in communist China, and that the only religions officially recognized there are all CCP controlled. Though they had heard about the persecution of Falun Gong, they didn't know about the mass organ harvesting atrocities. They both commented that religions should take proper actions in response to the atrocities.
A catholic bishop from Western Africa said that such disgusting atrocities are not tolerated by the international community. Meanwhile, he said that some democratic countries are morally accountable, as they scarified fundamental human standards for commercial interests.
When a practitioner just mentioned "Falun Gong," an American pastor said that he knew about the persecution of Falun Gong and that Falun Gong practitioners are Christians' brothers. He said that Falun Gong practitioners were facing a huge persecution similar to the persecution of Christians 2000 years ago. Regarding the organ harvesting, he said that he was spreading the truth in his own way and hoped that people will work together to end this cruel crime.
