(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Guo Jianju, 56, was a Falun Gong practitioner from the Baoyu Section Residential Quarter in Fengtai District, Beijing. She was illegally detained and subjected to persecution several times because she persisted in doing Falun Gong exercises outdoors after the persecution began on July 20, 1999. On April 18, 2000, she was illegally sentenced to one year of imprisonment in a forced labor camp. On October 28, 2002, police officers from the Kandan Local Police Station in Fengtai District and the national security agents from 610 Office searched her home. She was taken from her home and sent to a forced labor camp, where she was detained for two and a half years, and sustained physical injuries. In January 2005, national security agents searched her home again. At that time she was not at home, and they arrested her husband Feng Ze (also a Falun Gong practitioner), whose whereabouts are currently unknown. Her mind was thus subjected to one more assault. The long period of suffering in such a bad environment finally caused her mental collapse. She died on November 26, 2006.
Mr. Yang Fenghai was a Falun Gong practitioner from the Gaoxinzhuang Residential Quarter in Jiuzhou Town, Langfang City, Hebei Province. On July 20, 1999, he was arrested on his way to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and sent to the Langfang Detention Center, where he was forced to sit on the urinal all night. Ten days later, he had difficulty walking and was not able to eat. The detention center notified his family members and asked them to take him home. He was mentally traumatized after going home, and he could not study the Fa or do the exercises. He became so fearful that he trembled when he saw people quarreling. He died one and a half years later.
Ms. Li Guixue, 51, lived in the Dadou Residential Quarter in Ganzhao Town, Kezuo County, Liaoning Province. She later moved to Chaoyang City (the address is unclear). After July 20,1999, she was detained three times because she was practicing Falun Gong. During her third detention period, she was beaten to death.
