(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Lin Tong, 76, was employed by the Dianbai County First Construction Company in Guangdong Province before being laid off. Both he and his wife, Ms. Li Lanying, are in poor health. They depended entirely on their daughter, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Lin Yanmei, who supported her family by running a fruit stand. In 2004, the Dianbai County 610 Office ordered the Shuidong police to arrest Ms. Lin and take her to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Lin was persecuted for practicing Falun Dafa and living by the principles of "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance." Her husband was unable to handle the stress of her persecution, so he divorced her, remarried, and abandoned their two young children along with Ms. Lin's sick, elderly parents. The children were forced to leave school due to the lack of money. What had once been a complete family was destroyed by the Chinese Communist Party.
On September 13, 2007, Mr. Lin went to the Dianbai County 610 Office. He asked Director Xiao Xiong (male) to sign an application for families with financial difficulties. This request angered Xiao, who stormed out of the office. After waiting alone in the office for over an hour, Mr. Lin finally left. On his way out of the building, he saw Tang Murong (male) in front of the elevator door. Mr. Lin heard that Tang had accused Mr. Lin of striking an officer, so he approached Tang to ask him why he had made the false accusation. Tang shouted at him angrily and threatened, "I am not afraid to kill you, an old man without a son." He beat Mr. Lin and knocked him to the floor. One of Mr. Lin's arms was bruised, and the other was bleeding. Mr. Lin cried for help. Fortunately, another staff member arrived in time to stop the violence before it got any worse. Tang simply strutted away.
We call on all people of conscience to help free Ms. Lin Yanmei, so she can return home and care for her children and parents, and to bring Tang Murong to justice.
