(Clearwisdom.net) Officials from the Public Security Office and National Security Office, along with officers from the Fuqin Police Station, broke into the home of practitioner Mr. Jiang Zonglin, at No. 8, Yingtong Street, Fuqin W. Rd., Chengdu City, Sichuan Province at 5:00 p.m. on August 2, 2007. Mr. Jiang, an architecture engineer in his late fifties, was handcuffed and taken away, without the officers saying a word. Jiang's wife and daughter were also taken. The remaining officers conducted an illegal search of Jiang's house from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Jiang's cell phone, his daughter's two computers, and other private belongings were confiscated.
No one, including his family, has heard anything about Jiang since his illegal arrest.
Jiang was born in 1948, in a village in Shou County, Sichuan Province. For years, he suffered from frequent colds, migraines, nervous debilitation, and kidney inflammation. In 1996, though a colleague, Jiang and his wife learned about Falun Dafa. With both of them following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, his illnesses soon disappeared, and the quarrelsome family soon became much more harmonious.
Soon after Jiang started practicing Falun Dafa, he was promoted to director at the Research Institute of Mingyuan Architecture Design. Jiang worked industriously, and the institute that was in a deficit soon turned profitable. Jiang won the respect from all the employees.
When the persecution started, a newspaper, that is now bankrupt fabricated a news story stating that Jiang started firing employees after he began practicing Falun Gong. Other newspapers also reported this news and caused Jiang's workplace a lot of trouble. During the following six months, Jiang was forced to attend a brainwashing session, and was once detained during the Chinese New Year, along with other practitioners. During the brainwashing session, Jiang was often terrorized and threatened, and officers frequently broke into his house to perform illegal searches. In July 2000, Jiang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. As a result, he was arrested and dismissed from his job. On December 31, 2000, Jiang was again arrested, this time on a train to Beijing, for not carrying his ID with him. He then held a hunger strike to protest. The prison guards stripped him and made him stand in the freezing cold all night. Later the Yingmenkou (now know as Huangzhong) Police Station sent him to a forced labor camp for a year. At the time, Jiang's wife had already been locked in the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp for four months. His daughter, an undergraduate student in a foreign language college in Sichuan, was also in a forced labor camp, in Chongqing City. On Chinese New Year's eve in 2001, the then leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin, authorized a staged self immolation incident on Tiananmen Square, with the sole purpose of inciting hatred against Falun Gong amongst the Chinese people. The camp guards then intensified the torture against practitioners, and included methods of brainwashing, physical punishment, sleep deprivation, beating, and scolding.
In early 2002, Jiang's family was reunited, but their persecution continued. The day after the Chinese New Year, Jiang's mother became very ill, yet Hou Jiaqian, an officer from the former Yingmenkou Police Station, would only allow Jiang's family to leave town if Jiang would pay all expenses for Hou to follow and monitor them. As Jiang couldn't afford the expenses, they didn't go to see his mother before she died.
In October 2004, when Jiang's family returned home from visiting his ill mother-in-law, Wang Hong, head of the Jinqinlu community, went to their house to interrogate them.
Due to poor management the company Jiang had worked for eventually had to close down, and Jiang wasn't paid the salary they owed him. Before the company shut down, the police and street CCP office often illegally deducted money from his paycheck, and tried to justify this with various excuses. The amount taken totaled over 10,000 yuan.
On August 2, 2007, officers from the Fuqin Police Station took Jiang away, but when questioned, denied their involvement. The Fuqin Police Station and Jinniu Public Security kept passing the buck. Jiang's family asked to send clothes to him, but it was denied.
Between August and September of 2007, there were at least 30 practitioners in Chengdu City arrested or missing from home or work.
Jiang's wife and daughter are currently at their home. However, their computers and cell phones, worth more than 10,000 yuan, were confiscated during an illegal search and have not been returned. On September 18, 2007, a month after Jiang went missing, Jiang's family was allowed to take some of Jiang's clothes to the Fuqin Police Station and have them delivered to Jiang. This was the same day that people in Xinjin City saw about seven practitioners, with their heads covered with pillow cases, taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center.
Many practitioners have been savagely tortured in this brainwashing center. Ms. Zhu Xia, from Chengdu City, was repeatedly raped in the center by the guards, and eventually had a mental collapse. Ms. Liu Ying was injected with unknown drugs and eventually became mentally disoriented. Some protesters' teeth were removed with pliers, some died of brutal force feeding, and some were injected with unknown drugs.
There was information saying that Jiang and many other practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest their imprisonment. In the past six months, practitioners Zhao Zhongling and Huang Min were tortured to death for protesting. The guards didn't notify their families when they were close to death.
It's been several months since Jiang went missing. When his family asked his whereabouts, Xie Shinong, an officer from the Fuqin Police Station and Fuqin Street Office, said, "We took him his clothes, which means he is still around." On September 13, 2007, family members of Mr. Ding Zeyang, a retired professor from Sichuan University who was locked in the Xinjin Brainwashing Center, inquired about Jiang. An officer from the Wuhou Public Security Bureau 1st Division said, "We didn't kill him. We didn't cremate him."
