(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese New Year Spectacular was held in Cullen Performance Hall at the University of Houston, Texas. Approximately three thousand people, including political leaders, representatives from consulates, dignitaries from different communities, and others from all walks of life watched the performance on the evening of February 2 and the afternoon on February 3.
Traditional Chinese Culture Moves Audience
The Spectacular focuses on traditional Chinese culture and helps people understand the real meaning of life. The wonderful performances with excellent costumes and vivid backdrops moved the audience. Many of them were so joyful and touched they had tears in their eyes.
A security guard praised the performance while wiping tears from his face. A reporter said after watching the show, "Wonderful. Very good. Very professional. What I like to see is such a performance. I'll come next year." A Chinese couple told an NTDTV staff member during the break, "The programs are wonderful. The performances, the costumes and backdrops are all great. We are so delighted from the bottom of our hearts. Some lyrics mentioned Falun Gong. We can understand. Falun Gong is great. We'd like to know where to learn Falun Gong."
After the performance, a western gentleman came out with his son. The boy was reluctant to leave. Staff members told him that there would be another performance on the following day. A senior Chinese couple planed to go to New York to watch the NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular show. A Chinese businessman said, "I am a picky person. I am not happy with anything except this show. It is the most beautiful show I have ever seen."
Representatives from some consulates also came to watch the show and praised traditional Chinese culture. In the front hallway, there were proclamations and congratulatory letters from US Senators, Congressmen, the mayor and other political leaders. A congressman presented a US flag that had hung in the US Capitol to the evening show. A county head who issued a proclamation to the Spectacular last year came with his wife to watch the performance and said, "Thanks."
Congratulatory messages from people from all walks of life were shown on a TV in the front hallway. Some western people came wearing traditional Chinese costumes to watch the performance. Some people drove 3 to 4 hours to watch the show and said it was worth it.
Many more people were reluctant to leave and said, "Excellent! Thank you!"
The Global Chinese New Year Spectacular Has Significant Meaning
The Spectacular will be performed on 76 occasions with a total audience of 150,000 to 250,000. Houston is the ninth stop on the Spectacular's tour. The performance team has been welcomed wherever they go.
One director of the show said that all the performances have been wonderful and transcend modern time and space. Humanity seeks graceful things. Modern people have forgotten what they really need and have a feeling of loss. Humanity needs serenity and peace. Many people feel great after watching the show.
Another director, Xu Li, said, "The show expresses genuine and pure traditional Chinese culture. In China, many people are busy with life and don't pay attention to traditional culture. Along with economic development, many people are struggling for their personal benefit. Modern art is degenerate and has lost its connection with traditional culture. The programs of the show--from the music, songs, and dances to the design of costumes-- are all pure and righteous."
The mission of the NTDTV Spectacular is to spread traditional Chinese culture. The CCP has destroyed genuine Chinese culture for many years and tries hard to interfere with the show. During the few days before the show, CCP spies continuously harassed the ticket hotline of the show via telephone. The CCP also spread hatred in the community to discourage people from buying tickets and to exert pressure on a congressman to withdraw a proclamation of support. These activities exposed the CCP's evil nature to everyone.
