(Clearwisdom.net) April 2 to 6, 2007 was human rights week at Georgia Institute of Technology. Amnesty International organized an activity calling attention to human rights. Practitioners applied for a booth at the event and exposed the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Many students expressed their concern.
Around the practitioners’ booth were poster boards exposing how the CCP tramples the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners. On the first day, many students received flyers. During the following days, many people started to ask for details about the persecution and how to help Falun Gong practitioners in China. Once it was near the end of that day’s activity, several people came to read the poster boards and discuss the situation. They said they would sign online petitions calling for an end to the persecution.
On another occasion, a woman refused a flyer indifferently, but after reading the posters, she returned and said, “I am sorry. I did not know you are protesting persecution. Please give me a flyer. Thank you!”
A student who speaks Chinese sincerely exchanged his views with practitioners. He said that there were other booths showing human rights issues, but they did not have steadfast determination like Falun Gong practitioners. He said that the practitioners were doing something meaningful.
Someone said they admire Falun Gong practitioners and what they can do. Many heard about the CCP’s organ harvesting atrocities and said they would read the literature carefully and tell more people about it to call for an end to the brutal persecution.
Practitioners participating in the event said, “We see many people still don’t know about the persecution of Falun Gong. Many predestined people do not know the facts. We need to make more efforts to clarify the facts.”
