(Clearwisdom.net) The Liberty Times reported on April 19, 2007 that the Eastern Art group "The Divine Performing Arts," which recently made its Broadway debut, will bring its last tour performance in Taiwan to the National Chung Cheng University in Chiayi County on April 20 and 21. Ninety percent of the tickets have been sold out.
The Divine Performing Arts, which is based in New York, has been established for over three years. The dance troupe is composed of 62 outstanding Chinese artists who perform 19 programs. The performers include well-known Chinese tenor in China, Guan Guimin, Contralto Yang Jiansheng, who graduated from China's Conservatory of Music, and other artists. They have been invited to tour 34 cities around the world and stage 86 performances, with a full house at each performance.
The organizers said that the Divine Performing Arts mainly showcase the beauty of Chinese classical dance. The dance performances include Dai nationality, Tibetan, Manchu and Mongolian, and other folk dances. Their costumes are gorgeous and exquisite, and dance performances include "Creation," which showcases the Great Tang Dynasty's flourishing age and other performances that profoundly convey traditional Chinese culture. The stage backdrops are particularly well-designed, with 25,000 lumen projection equipment that can produce three-dimensional visual effects, leaving the audience stunned and amazed.
The New Tang Dynasty Asia Pacific Television Network especially invited the Divine Performing Arts this March to come to Taiwan to give performances. Due to the warm response, the organizers extended their stay in Taiwan. As of today, 13 performances have been staged in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung. The troupe will put on additional performances in the auditorium of National Chung Cheng University in Chiayi for two days from April 20-21.
