(Clearwisdom.net) A fellow practitioner was recently released from a labor camp. Before being released, the guard in the camp told him not to leave the city and to regularly report his thoughts to the local police station. The practitioner denied the evil old forces' arrangement and after his body had recovered, he decided to go and find a job, settling down first and then studying the Fa and clarifying the facts and doing the three things that a practitioner should do. However, he discovered that his ID card was just about to expire. At that time, China had started to issue ID cards for everyone, with a new design, and the old ones could no longer be used. Without an ID card, it is very difficult for a person to find a job, find a place to live, or study normally. But in order to get a new ID card, he had to go to the local police station. When he thought about going there initially, he thought that the old forces might use the police to persecute him.
The practitioner realized that there was no excuse for allowing the evil to persecute a good person, so he went to his local police station to request a new ID card. It was just as he had thought it would be: the policeman in charge of the ID card registration gave all kinds of excuses to keep from issuing the practitioner a new card. He said that the practitioner had to see another officer and let that officer write a report of his thoughts and then he needed to wait for the results. The practitioner went to see the officer, who requested that he write a thought-report, telling the police what he was thinking about. The practitioner firmly refused to do that and told him that it was his right, according to the law, to get a new ID card issued. He also asked the officer to show him which regulation or law did not allow a new ID card to be issued to him. The police officer knew that he was wrong, but he still shamelessly said to the practitioner: "I haven't said that I will not issue an ID card for you, I only want to talk to you about your situation. As long as you tell me your thoughts clearly, I can issue it immediately." From beginning to end, the practitioner emphasized his rights: "I came here only for a new ID card, which is reasonable and protected by the law. You have no right to refuse me." Finally the police officer said: "We have nothing to talk about, so that is it."
Although the practitioner did not get a new ID card, he knew that it did not matter and that the police officer's behavior was illegal and wrong. He decided to expose how the police had broken the law to the public. He posted the facts of his case on the government website. He explained that he had just been released from a forced labor camp and because his ID card was about to expire, he went to the local police station to get a new one issued. However, the police officers didn't issue him one because he is one of the people the authorities want to control. He also stated: "Now I don't have a job or any income. I need to get a new ID card so that I can find a job to support myself. But the local police gave me trouble for no valid reason. Every citizen has the right to get an ID card, and no organization or person has the right to refuse to issue an ID card for a citizen."
He also wrote an appeal letter to the city mayor and the city police station to tell them what happened when he tried to apply for a new ID card and requested that they give him some reasonable answers. Two or three days later, he got on the Internet to check whether he had received an answer from the government website. Indeed, his question had been responded to and he was told to go to registration and political section of the local public security bureau to discuss his problem. They also gave him the registration and political section telephone number. When the practitioner called, a lady answered the phone, so he told her what had happened at the local police station. When she heard his account, the lady immediately replied that the local police station should issue him a new ID card and that "the local officials didn't handle the matter properly." She also told him that she would immediately inquire about his situation at the local police station and notify him of the results. Ten minutes later, she called him back and said that his case had already been corrected and that he could go to the local police station any time to get his new ID card. When he arrived at the police station again, the registration officer not only didn't mention anything about his thought-report but also said with a big, fake smile: "We just had to inquire about your situation, no harm done, just wait a little while and then you can go." After receiving his new ID card, the practitioner found a job and again returned to assisting Teacher with the Fa-rectification.
Through this incident, we realized that the old forces unceasingly create different forms of persecution. However, we should consider whether it is something that we should forbear or, as long as the form of ordinary people does not suit us, we should use different methods to solve the issue. For example, in my case, if an ID card was hard to get, then let it be because we still can live and work without one; if we encounter some small troubles, we should ask Teacher for help so that we can still overcome the difficulties.
Certainly every practitioner's situation is different. In regards to my experience mentioned here, it does not mean whenever a similar situation occurs, we should all solve it with the same method. The purpose for writing this article is to offer more means for fellow practitioners, so that whenever they meet with difficulties and troubles, they can solve them more quickly and effectively.
