On the night of May 27, 2007, practitioner Ms. Li Ying and Ms. Yu Chunbo were out removing banners that had statements slandering Falun Gong and Teacher. Hidden police officers surprised the practitioners and took them away to the Xinhua Police Station in Wafangdian City where the two women were tortured for the rest of the night. The next day, practitioners Mr. Ying Shifeng, Ms. Song Changmei, and the families of Ms. Li Ying and Ms. Yu Chunbo rushed to the police station requesting the release of the two already detained, but ended up suffering from police torture, too. Mr. Ying Shifeng and Ms. Song Changmei were illegally detained in the police station. More than 30 police officers took turns beating Ms. Song for a whole day. She was hit with electric batons, her hands were handcuffed behind her back, and then she was hung up by her cuffed hands. She was dragged upstairs and downstairs by her hair several times, and the police stomped on her head until she lost consciousness. Meanwhile, Mr. Ying was also beaten severely. That night, Ms. Song was beaten to the point of death, until her breathing and pulse were extremely weak. When the police sent her to a hospital to be revived, the on-duty nurse could not even insert an IV successfully. Fearing that they would be held responsible for her death, the hospital authorities refused to admit her. The police officers sent Ms. Song to her family to shirk their responsibility.

2. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Chunxiang Held a Hunger Strike to Protest the Persecution

At the end of November 2006, practitioner Ms. Wang Chunxiang was taken into custody by the Dandong City Police Department and her home was searched. As a result, the truth clarification material site that was in her home was destroyed and Ms. Wang Chunxing was "illegally sentenced" to prison for eight years. Although she was detained in the Baifang Detention Center, she maintained her righteous thoughts and practiced the exercises as usual. The police handcuffed her to the bed frame for 24 hours straight and forced her to do hard labor. She held a hunger strike in protest of the persecution. At the beginning of April 2007, the police sent Ms. Wang Chunxiang, who was extremely weak, to Dabei Prison in Shenyang City. The prison authorities refused to accept her. She was sent back to the local detention center that same day. It is said that she is still on the hunger strike and her blood pressure is very high.

Mr. Sha Mingquan, 39, lives in the Zhongshan District, Dalian City. He attained the Fa in 2004. On May 23, 2007, a police officer from the Hutan Police Station knocked on Mr. Sha's door, requesting that he go to the police station. Mr. Sha accompanied the officer to the station. Afterward, more than 10 police officers from the Hutan Police Station and the Zhongshan Police Department illegally searched Mr. Sha's home. They took a printer, computer, paper cutting machine, and some Falun Dafa books. Mr. Sha's family went to the police station seeking his release. The director, Jin Chaojun(male), said that Mr. Sha would be held in custody for 10 days and then released, but the next day, Mr. Sha was transferred to Ganjingzi Detention Center. There he saw his family once. After that he was not allowed to see them again. On May 31, 2007, Mr. Sha called his family and told them that he was transferred to somewhere in Fushun City; he did not know the name of the place.

4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jiang Pai Suffered Brutal Persecution

Since practitioner Ms. Jiang Pai was illegally arrested on April 26, 2007, she has continued to be brutally persecuted. From April 26 to April 30, 2007, she was detained in an unknown location. On April 30, she was sent to the Daqing City Detention Center. There she repeatedly vomited and fainted, so she was sent to the hospital for treatment for more than 10 days. She was diagnosed with a serious gallstone. But Zhang Yiqing(male), the chief of Wolitun Police Department, and police officers from Daqing City Police Department had her released from the hospital and took her back to the Daqing Detention Center.

On April 25, 2007, another practitioner, Ms. Yang Jinfeng, 51 years old, was persecuted severely in the Daqing Detention Center and was in mortal danger.

On May 25, 2004, Ms. Wang Chuanlian was sentenced and detained in Wangcun Labor Camp. She was subjected to torture since she refused to be "transformed." She was scheduled for release on May 25, 2007, but she is still detained. No word has been heard about her. Members of her family have called the labor camp to request her release, but a female guard said that Ms. Wang's term was extended and she would not be released.

10. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Zhihong and Others Subject to Persecution

Mr. Wu Zhihong, a practitioner from Zhuozhou City, was taken away by police in Beijing. Mr. Zhang Yueming and Ms. He Yuhua, practitioners who worked in the Geology Team under 173 Coal Field, were also taken away from their homes by police officers from Beijing Police Department. Also, their homes were searched. Afterward, the officers rushed to the home of another practitioner, Mr. Zhao, but failed to seize him. He was forced to become destitute and homeless to avoid further persecution. The three practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.

In addition, practitioner Ms. Zong Jingxia is still detained at Zhuozhou City Detention Center.

Mr. Li Wei was arrested by officers from the Pingan Town Police Station in Changtu County while he was clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was detained at the Changtu County Detention Center. He was put in shackles as if he were a felon. It wasn't until fellow practitioners from Siping City that were attempting to rescue Mr. Liu Qinghua and Mr. Meng Xiangchen were themselves arrested by police officers from the Maojiadian Town Police Station that Mr. Li Wei's arrest was discovered. On the afternoon of May 13, 2007, while spreading information about the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Chen Jie and Ms. Wei Denghui, former staff members of Sichuan Chemical Company Limited, and Ms. Xie Wenju, a former staff member of the Chemical Machinery Plant, were reported and taken away by police officers from the Kangjiadu Police Station. At that time, Ms. Wei Denghui escaped by maintaining righteous thoughts. At about 3:45 p.m. on April 28, 2007, without any warrants or prior notification, staff member Dai from the 610 Office that operates within the Zhanlan Road Subdistrict Office, along with Chai Qinglian(female), the secretary of Gongli Community Committee in Beiyingfang Town, and Lin An(male), a security guard from the Gongli Community, broke into a practitioner's home with the intent to harass. Lin An even took out a camera to take photographs. With the practitioner's righteous thoughts and his family's assistance, the authorities were expelled in ten minutes.

Authorities from Xiajin County Police Department extorted 60,000 yuan from Mr. Wang Chuanrong's wife, who is a Falun Gong practitioner, before releasing her. In addition, Ms. Ren Jingling, a practitioner in Xiajin County, was taken away by police on the afternoon of April 16, 2007, and her Falun Gong materials were also taken.

On May 13, 2007, on a street in Yuebao Village, Ms. Yang Meimei, a practitioner from Yuebao Village, Zhuanglang County, was arrested. The next day, the police officers searched her home and took Falun Gong books and tapes. She was sent to the Zhuanglang County Detention Center.

Ms. Yang Meimei, 45, is an illiterate farmer. After she began practicing Falun Gong in 1997, many of her diseases disappeared and her health was restored. On New Year's Day 2001, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. As a result, she and other practitioners from Zhuanglang County were detained for five months. Later, guards extorted 5000 yuan from her and then released her on bail. In May 2002, she was detained for another month since she stated that she would continue practicing Falun Gong. According to her husband, her legs were injured in a beating and she cannot stand up.

At about 9 p.m. on May 15, 2007, Mr. Li was taken away from Linchi Village by police officers from the Zouping County 610 Office and Linchi Town Police Station. He is being detained at the Zouping County Detention Center.

40. [Hebei Province] Two Practitioners from the Hejian Area Arrested for Distributing Falun Gong Truth Material

Recently, it was learned that Ms. Wang Xiaofen, a local practitioner in the Hejian Area, and Ms. Chen Shuwen, over 40 years old, a practitioner from elsewhere, were arrested while they were distributing Falun Gong truth material two weeks ago.

41. [Xichang City, Sichuang Province] Supplement to the Arrests of 18 Practitioners

At about 9 a.m. on May 24, 2007, police officers from the Xicheng Police Station and the Changan Police Station, Liu Guoxiang(male), Guo Jian(male), and three female officers from the State Security Division in Xichang City broke into the residence of practitioner Mr. Lai Yuwen. They arrested 18 practitioners. Practitioners in one police car were sent to the Xicheng Police Station and then redirected to the State Security Division more than 10 minutes later. Practitioners in another police car were sent directly to the State Security Division. The practitioners were interrogated separately. They were fingerprinted and photographed against their will. Of those arrested, 15 were released. Mr. Lai Yuwen, Ms. Tang Qiong, and Ms. Wu Shilian are still in the Tuohuang Detention Center in Xichang City.
