Greetings Master, greetings fellow practitioners.
1. Obtaining the Fa and Beginning Cultivation
I was born into an atheist family. After the first time I read Zhuan Falun, I felt it was a book of myths. Suddenly, I got a serious disease and was sent to the hospital emergency room. I felt so close to death. However, I did not feel scared; on the contrary, I was thinking about where I would go after reincarnation. Little by little, the fever and cold that I had for a long time disappeared. The doctors said I might have sequela so I would have to go to the hospital for a checkup every year. After one year, the doctor was so surprised that I had recovered so well. He told me that I did not need to come any more. I experienced the extraordinary nature of Dafa.
One unbelievable thing let me feel the extraordinariness and seriousness of cultivation. One day, I was surfing the Internet and found news about a religious leader. There was a link to the religion's website. Out of curiosity, I clicked on it and found that it introduced the belief, and something on how to be a good person. I thought this was not bad. Immediately, I realized it was not right to think this way as a Dafa practitioner. I closed the web page immediately. That night I dreamed of a huge snake trying to enter my abdomen. I did not feel any pain, but I was so scared. Just at that moment, I shouted "Fa Zhen Qian Kun, Xie E Quan Mie" and the snake was dead. After I woke up, I was sweating. I realized, every sentence in Zhuan Falun is true. At the same time, I also felt that cultivation is very serious. As a practitioner, I should be very careful with every single thought.
2. Clarifying the Truth on a Car Tour
In the spring of 2006, two witnesses stepped forward to confirm the Chinese Communist Party's crime of harvesting living Falun Gong practitioners' organs. Human rights lawyer David Matas and former Canadian Member of Parliament David Kilgour wrote an independent investigation report. Practitioners in Toronto organized a car tour to clarify the truth and expose the evil. I did not have a job at that time, and I joined the car tour.
There were a lot of things to prepare before we started. We had to carefully plan the route to make sure we could start the news conferences on time. I had to call city halls to make appointments for news conference locations, and call government officials to clarify the truth. I made hundreds of phone calls. Secretaries often refused our requests. I felt very disappointed and asked myself, "Will this car tour have any effect?"
A few days before the car tour started, my husband and I drove to group Fa-study. On the drive I suddenly saw a big lotus flower on the windshield, covering about one third of the glass. I said, "Look, what a big lotus flower!" My husband said, "Yes, maybe it is too humid inside," then he opened the window, but the lotus flower remained unchanged. We spent half an hour driving and the flower was there all the time. Some practitioners said, "It must be our Master showing the flower to encourage you."
There was much interference before we left on the tour. I was a bit worried about myself. I never went out by myself. Wherever I went, my husband would take care of everything. I did not know whether I could leave home for so long. My watch, which ran very well before, stopped working. My shoes suddenly need to be repaired. Just before I was going to leave for the airport, I could not find my wallet with all my personal ID's. I was a bit anxious. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts, and as a result, the four of us started the journey without a problem.
The car tour was pretty tough for me. We spent most of our time in the car. In the Prairie Provinces, there are not many residences. It often took a long period of driving for us to reach a small town. For the whole two weeks, we had no chance to eat a good lunch. In order to save precious time, we often ate some bread in the car with salted vegetables. Our breakfast and dinner were packaged noodles and some canned meat. In order to save money and energy, we decided to sleep in tents. It was very cold in the tent and it started raining right after we entered the tent. After heavy rains and strong winds, other practitioners shouted, "It is leaking!"and asked if I was okay. I checked my sleeping bag and tent, which were already wet. After that, whenever I slept, I covered my sleeping bag with a raincoat and an umbrella.
When I was a child, I was often carsick. I was very scared of traveling in cars. Vomiting and dizziness could be serious problems for me. Considering my problem, other practitioners let me sit in the front seat. However, I had to help navigate. This could make my situation worse because I never write or read in the car. However, it was really a miracle that for the whole two weeks, I did not have any problems.
The car tour was also a journey to cultivate my xinxing. Since three of the four members in our group could speak English well, we kept interrupting each other when clarifying the truth. The effect was not so good. Later, I found that it was caused by my attachment to eagerness to draw others' attention to me. I tried to let go of this attachment and kept sending forth righteous thoughts whenever others clarified the truth. As a result, practitioners started to support each other by adding some missing points when necessary and it became much better than before.
One Friday, we held a press conference in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Then we went to a big shopping mall to collect postcard petition signatures on Saturday. When I asked a person whether he had heard that the Chinese Communist Party was harvesting Falun Gong practitioners' organs, he said, "I know, I saw you on TV yesterday."
The people in the prairie provinces were very kind. At one time, we lost our way, so we asked someone for directions. We told the man the purpose of our car tour and he was so touched by what we were doing. He told us that he would photocopy our fliers and give them to his customers at his convenience store. Someone else saw our T-shirts and insisted on buying one and told us that he would tell the story to his friends.
The Canadian Car Tour turned out to be very effective with all of the practitioners' efforts. In almost every city, some media was reporting on it, even in some small towns.
3. Finding a Job by Purifying My Mind
After I graduated from school, finding a job was an important task for me. I had to spend a lot of time polishing my resume and preparing for interviews. I envied those older practitioners who did not need to find a job. I also envied those middle-aged practitioners who had jobs already and just went to work. They could all spend more time working on Dafa projects. When I looked for a job, I spent so much time and could not clarify the truth as much. However, without an income, I felt uneasy.
As time went by, all kinds of notions surfaced: All of my classmates had found jobs. I was so ashamed to be without a job. Without a job, how could I survive? Whenever my parents or my friends mentioned the topic of work, I felt very nervous. I tried to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate any interference, but I was so eager to find a job and often dreamed that I could purchase a big house. I knew the thoughts were not righteous, but I could not stop thinking about it.
Without giving up the attachment, I faced many difficulties. One job opportunity was almost an ideal position for me. I took great pains to prepare for the interview. Everything looked so good. The human resources person had started to discuss salary with me. I was very excited. After a few days, I did not receive any further notice. Then the secretary told me that the job position was canceled. I was very disappointed. After that, I got another interview, but I had never heard of the company. The company's location was pretty far from where I live. I took the exam, which was very difficult. After I calmed down and sent forth righteous thoughts, I was surprised that I finished most of the questions. The company offered me a second-stage interview, and I could not answer any of the questions. Since I had improved my xinxing on this, I was not worried about it but felt very calm. At worst, I could do some labor work. Several days later, the company informed me of their acceptance of my application. The salary was fairly good. The workload was reasonable too. From these experiences, I eventually understood the meaning of "gaining naturally without pursuit."
One Friday, a manager called for a group meeting to work on an important project, which would be due on Monday. Our product was not ready to be released. He hoped that we could work during the weekend. I agreed to do so. However, the other senior employee refused. Everything was left to me. I was not familiar with the project, or the tools to work on it. I had to face this alone. When I worked on it, I kept sending forth righteous thoughts and kept telling myself, "I am a Dafa disciple, I can solve any problem." Little by little, the problems became easier and easier. I could handle the tools fairly well. The project was finished successfully on Monday. I knew all my wisdom came from Dafa. If I did not cultivate Dafa, I would not be able to achieve this.
Recalling the past several months, I cannot explain how I solved those difficult problems. I understand now, as long as I firmly believe in Master, as long as I firmly believe in Dafa, Master will help me and Dafa will bring miracles to my life.
I had another attachment--I was so scared of others' opinion of me. I always hesitated to express myself. I was afraid of others' criticizing and misunderstanding my views. When I wrote my sharing, I hesitated too. The process of writing this sharing is also a great opportunity for me to eliminate the attachment.
These are some of my cultivation experiences. If there are any problems, please kindly correct me.
Thank you Master. Thank you fellow practitioners.
