(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Shujuan lived in Liqizhuang Township in Sanhe City, Hebei Province. She was detained in the Baoding City Labor Camp for one year, and she died on April 25, 2007 at the age of 50.
On February 5, 2006, Ms. Liu Shujuan went to the Xianghe County Police Department with more than thirty fellow practitioners to request the release of detained Falun Dafa practitioners. However, all of them were illegally arrested and detained in the Dachang County Detention Center. There they endured all kinds of torture. They were brutally beaten and some practitioners' teeth became loose and they still cannot chew. One practitioner was tied against the wall with all four limbs spread apart overnight. The practitioners were not allowed to wear jackets, even though it was freezing and the windows were open. They slept on the icy cold cement floor with only a thin blanket on the floor and no other bedding. Ms. Liu's two teenage daughters were also mistreated in the same manner. Among these practitioners, Mr. Cao Yubao, age 56 from Langfang City, died on April 26, 2006.
Ms. Liu Shujuan was taken against her will to the Gaogezhuang Detention Center (in Sanhe City) by police officers from the Sanhe City Police Department. She was forced to write a guarantee statement and was sentenced to forced labor. Her heart disease recurred due to being tortured, and the Kaiping Labor Camp in Tangshan City refused to accept her. The Sanhe City 610 Office then detained Ms. Liu in the local detention center, where she had several heart attacks. The 610 Office not only refused to release her, but sent her to the Baoding Labor Camp with a one-year term in April 2006.
Soon after Ms. Liu Shujuan was released home after the year of forced labor, she died on April 25, 2007 due to the prolonged period of mistreatment she received under the Chinese Communist Party's persecution.
