(Clearwisdom.net) Central News Agency reported on July 10 that more than thirty contestants and teachers from Taiwan participated in New Tang Dynasty TV's first International Chinese Classical Dance Competition. Taiwan dancers had excellent performances. Chou Yu-hsuan and Chen Ying-chia won the first prize in the junior women's division and adult men's division. The delegation visited the offices of the Taipei Economic and Culture Office in New York. Director Liao Kang-min congratulated them.
The International Chinese Classical Dance Competition was held in Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University in Manhattan.
The Taiwanese contestants were impressed with the office building in mid-Manhattan. Director Liao Kang-min, vice Director Chi Yun-sheng, head of culture group Kuo Chiu-yi and head of the Taipei Culture Center Lin Teng-tsan were present and had photos taken with the dancers.
Chi Yun-sheng indicated that the Taiwanese contestants won awards in New York, which suggests that traditional arts are well preserved in Taiwan.
