The rally started at 10:00am. Zhang Zijian, a representative of the Falun Gong practitioners, read an announcement, calling upon people to recognize the evil nature of the CCP and help to end the persecution.
Mr. Zhang Zijian pointed out that the CCP has extended the persecution to overseas. The recent violent deportation of Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong is such an example.
Tao Hongguang, a practitioner, expressed that Falun Gong practitioners didn't give in during the brutal persecution, but instead, they spread Falun Gong all over the world, which shows that the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" has great power. He expressed that more and more people in the world are touched by the practitioners' spirit and support them.
In the announcement, practitioners expressed that what Falun Gong practitioners have demonstrated to the world is the power of compassion, instead of violence.
A practitioner expressed that many people in China learned the facts of the persecution. In Malaysia, people also know about it. Before July 20, the police department called practitioners, asking what kind of activity they would hold on July 20. He said: "Many policemen came to shake hands with us during the rally. We feel that the police department is trying their best to help us, which is different than the situations a few years ago. They all know the facts of Falun Gong now."
At night, practitioners held a candle light vigil in memory of those who have died as a result of the persecution.
