Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.
Zhang Jie, a 25-year-old policeman from the police station of the Hongshiya Street Office in the Qingdao Economic & Technical Development Area, collided with a truck while driving drunk and died at the scene.
He is the third person from the police station that is known to have died as a result of retribution for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. (Instructor Gao Sijun was killed in an accident in 2004, and the director Dong Guibo died of liver cancer in 2005.)
Zhang Jie had a fierce and malicious temper. He never hesitated to torture Dafa disciples. After the large-scale arrest of Dafa disciples in June 2003, Zhang Jie was ordered by the two men referenced above and another policeman Zhuang Huaidou to cruelly torture Dafa disciples. Zhang used all kinds of methods, such as hanging practitioners from their hands cuffed behind their backs for long periods of time, shocking them with electric batons, covering their heads with plastic bags, forcing them to sit on a tiger bench, tying them to a death bed, forcing them to squat or stand, exposing them to the scorching sun, and depriving them of food and sleep. He also sent Dafa disciples to the Qingdao Brainwashing Center. In total he arrested approximately 30 Dafa disciples, illegally sentencing a dozen practitioners to labor camps and fining them thousands of yuan. His actions forced many practitioners to leave their homes and live in destitution to avoid arrest.
Because of the serious persecution of Dafa disciples, the local residents are scared and leave immediately when hearing anything about "Falun Gong." They fear being persecuted, so they dare not listen to or read the truth about Falun Dafa.
Jiangyuan Police Run Over a Man on Purpose
Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, the Jiangyuan Police Department of Baishan City has been actively involved in kidnapping and torturing Dafa disciples. Their persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and their families has caused many families to be torn apart.
For example, Zhang Quanfu and his son Zhang Qifa both died as a result of th persecution, leaving behind Zhang's wife Jiao Yongzhi and daughter Zhang Yulan. The Jiangyuan Police Department did not even spare the mother and daughter. Seven to eight policemen of the Jiangyuan Police Department illegally arrested Jiao Yongzhi and Zhang Yulan on June 8, 2007. Jiao Yongzhi is still being detained in the Jiangyuan Detention Center.
On June 20, 2007, a driver and the deputy director of the Jiangyuan Police Department drove a car to Lushui to attend a wedding ceremony. Following the wedding, they went to the Lushui Hunting Park. On the way home at night, they struck and killed a teacher named Zhang, who worked for the First Middle School of the Forestry Department. During an investigation, it was discovered that the teacher did not die at the moment of impact. The wounds revealed that the teacher died from a second impact. As a matter of fact, the two policemen intentionally ran over the teacher one more time, killing him. They did this because should the teacher survive, they might have to pay his medical expenses for the rest of his life, a situation they didn't want to happen.
