(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Ms. Jin Chunxian, 60, was a retired accountant from an electrical factory in Dongning County, Heilongjiang Province. She had been subjected to inhumane torture in Qiqihar Forced Labor Camp. She was arrested again in September 2005 and sentenced to eight years of imprisonment without proper legal proceedings. On July 31, 2007, she passed away.
Ms. Jin Chunxian previously suffered from stomach cancer, breast cancer and various other illnesses. After she started practicing Falun Gong, all her illnesses disappeared. When the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to validate the practice and say words of justice. However, she was arrested and taken back by the Dongning County Police Department for one year of forced labor.
In Qiqihar Forced Labor Camp, Jin Chunxian was subjected to inhumane tortures. She was hung up for four days by her hands cuffed behind her back. As she persisted in practicing the exercises, she was brutally beaten by criminals many times. Once when she was practicing the exercises in the open space outside, the guards had a few criminals pounce on her. They each grabbed one of her limbs. Her clothes were torn away, and they even tore the skin on her abdomen in the process. They then shocked her with electric batons. We could hear her being verbally abused and the sound of the electric batons being operated. After she was brought in from outside, she still persisted in practicing the sitting meditation. She was thus beaten again. The police then locked her up in a solitary cell and gagged her with a cloth. They also tied her arms behind her back and made her squat on the floor. She was not allowed to stand nor sit, she could only stay in the squatting position. She was gagged for as long as eight to nine hours and made to squat for an entire day. On the second day when they loosened the rope, both her arms were swollen and numb. It took her three months to recover from this torture.
On May 11, 2005, Ms. Jin was found practicing the exercises. The police used ropes to tie both her arms behind her back and hang her up. As she recited new Falun Gong articles, the police taped her mouth and shocked her with electric batons. When she held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, the lawless personnel beat her and hung her up for a whole day. They then tried to force feed her. In the process, they injured her nose and it bled profusely. During her hunger strike, they even made her do work, such as planting potatoes, fertilizing and other tiring work.
On September 23, 2005, the 610 Office of the National Security Department in Dongning County schemed against her. Lin Xiaowei, a primary leader of the National Security Department, sent people to arrest Jin Chunxian and ransack her residence. At the same time, they also arrested her daughter-in-law, Ms. Cui Tiemei, who was also a Falun Gong practitioner. Later, both practitioners were listed as "important wanted persons" and were "illegally detained" in Dongning County Detention Center for over seven months. The lawless personnel conducted illegal body searches on the two of them by tearing off the zippers and buttons of their clothing with a big tool. As for the food that the family members brought for them, the guards withheld it until six days later, when the food was rotting, before giving it to them. They also took away Jin Chunxian's dentures and forbade her from eating. Police officers Li Xiaohang and Ding Zhanxiang took away their Falun Gong books five times. In order to isolate the two of them, they ransacked the house eleven times within seven months.
In April 2006, Ms. Jin Chunxian was illegally sentenced to eight years of imprisonment while Ms. Cui Tiemei was sentenced to three years. During their illegal detention, as Ms. Jin could not practice the exercises, the symptoms of her illness came back. Jin Zhe, a representative from the "610 Office," not only did not release her, he went even further and sent both of them to Harbin Women's Prison. He gave instructions that Ms. Jin Chunxian was the mastermind and need not undergo a physical health exam to be admitted into the prison.
After the prison conducted a physical health exam of Ms. Jin, they refused to admit her. The doctor said that her cancer cells had already spread to her lymphatic system, and that if it spread further to her lungs, she would not live more than ten days. Under these conditions, Ms. Jin Chunxian was returned. However the National Security primary team did not release her. They locked her up in the detention center for two more months and finally released her "on bail for medical treatment" in August 2006.
Due to the long periods of illegal detention, Ms. Jin Chunxian's health worsened. Not long after she returned home, her whole body became swollen, and huge areas of flesh started deteriorating. It was a very pitiful state to see. She finally passed away on the night of July 31, 2007.
