In the West, there are some questions about the relationship between Falun Gong and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. The below is how we address them according to our personal understanding. Hopefully it can be helpful to others.
Why are Falun Gong practitioners spreading the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and encouraging Chinese people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations?
Why should the American government and the American people support the Chinese people that are quitting the CCP?-The goal and means of Falun Gong have not changed--end the persecution by bringing the truth to the Chinese people.
-After years of clarifying the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution, many Chinese people still choose to believe the communist regime's propaganda. It is thus necessary to reveal the history and nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to the Chinese people.
-After reading the Nine Commentaries, the Chinese people see the true history and nature of the regime. They awaken from the distorted notions developed during decades of CCP propaganda and come to cherish human dignity and value freedom. As a result, they voluntarily sever their ties with the CCP. Such a massive movement of withdrawal from the Communist Party is a phenomenon that has never happened in China's history, but it happened before the fall of communist regimes in Eastern Europe.
-After eight years of persecution, and with news surfacing of organ harvesting atrocities taking place in China, we realize that the persecution will not end unless the CCP is disintegrated.
I haven't heard of any more protests by Falun Gong practitioners in China. Has Falun Gong been eradicated completely in China?-Decades of engaging with the Chinese regime through trade and business investment has not improved the Chinese people's freedoms and basic rights, because the CCP will never voluntarily give up its power to the people.
-It is in the long-term interest of the US to engage with the Chinese people. The regime will change eventually, but the people are here to stay. Because the interests of the majority of the Chinese people are different than those of the CCP, engaging only with the Chinese regime will in the end lose the Chinese people.
-The American government and people can support the Chinese people by A) speaking out strongly when the Chinese people are persecuted instead of holding closed-door meetings with the CCP; B) openly stand with the Chinese people when they choose to abandon communism; C) support the free flow of information into and out of China.
You don't have any evidence for the number of people that have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.-Not at all. Falun Gong practitioners no longer protest publicly on Tiananmen Square as in the early stage of the persecution. Currently they are involved in multilevel and multi-channel efforts to bring the truth to the Chinese people.
-At the beginning of the persecution, people asked, "How long can Falun Gong hold out?" Now people are asking, "How long can the CCP hold on?"
-Inside China, hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of truth-clarifying material production sites were set up around the country. Newsletters, books, DVDs, banners, etc. are produced at these sites and disseminated further to local communities, posted in public locations, or passed on through human networks.
-Outside China, hundreds of millions of phone calls/faxes/emails carry the truth to the Chinese people.
-Media: Various media and numerous websites provide Chinese people with uncensored information and work to revive the essence of traditional Chinese culture and moral values destroyed by decades of the CCP's rule, thus laying a cultural and moral foundation for a future China.
-Breaking China's Internet blockage: pulling down China's Internet Great Wall and offering a complete solution for Internet Freedom: Inform, Connect, and Empower the Chinese people.
-It's OK if you have doubts about the exact number of withdrawals.
-Actually, what we want to bring to your attention is this movement itself and the fact that huge numbers of Chinese people are quitting the party.
