(Clearwisdom.net) The Falun Dafa Association of Canada will present two performances of the Mid-Autumn Spectacular by the Divine Performing Arts on September 27 and 28, 2007, at the Toronto Center for the Arts. This is the first performance that the Falun Dafa Association of Canada will present. The promotion activities started a week ago, and the general public has responded enthusiastically.
"I would like to buy tickets for the best seats."
When a middle-aged gentleman passed by the ticket center at Metropolitan Square, he was captivated by a section of the performance presented by the Divine Performing Arts played [on a large TV screen]. He stopped and watched for a few minutes, and said to the ticket seller: "The performance is terrific. I would like to buy tickets for four of the best seats." He immediately booked four tickets.
A Chinese woman who passed by with her child stopped in front of the ticket center for quite some time. She said to the ticket seller: "I've seen many performances in China and abroad, but I have never seen such a performance. I would love to see it." She immediately booked tickets.
An older man in his sixties stood nearby and had been watching the TV screen for a long time. He said to the Chinese woman: "This is authentic Chinese traditional culture. Your child is growing up overseas, take him to watch it. You must tell him the story. Just like the story of Mulan shown on the television, you must tell him the traditional story of Mulan showing filial piety to her parents, so he can understand the performance." The child took his mother's hand and said: "I definitely want to watch it!"
"She was the most successful student in my class."
When the ticket seller asked the older man if he wanted to book a ticket, he replied: "I'll definitely go see the performance. I majored in arts, and just moved from China. Dance teacher Tia Zhang of the Divine Performing Arts was my classmate and I have been looking for her. I don't know why I came here today. I have finally found her. How can I not go?"
"She was the most successful student in my class. You know, holding such a large scale show is very difficult. First, one should be very familiar with Chinese traditional culture, and also be familiar with Chinese history. One should have a deep understanding of ancient culture to be able to choreograph traditional dances. She's done it!"
Many Westerners know that this performance is very good
Falun Gong practitioner Nancy has been promoting the show in Chinatown in the Central District. She met a Chinese lady who teaches at a school in Toronto. The lady asked her for flyers and posters for the show, and said: "I want to buy a ticket and would also like to put up posters in my school."
The lady continued: "Actually, I learned from a westerner that this is a very good performance. Today, I received a flyer about this show. I read it while riding the subway. A westerner beside me asked to look at the flyer, and said his friends had seen the performance, and said it was wonderful. So he will definitely go to see it this time."
Proud of being a Falun Gong practitioner
Nancy told the reporter: "The Divine Performing Arts' Mid-Autumn Spectacular this year is presented by the Falun Dafa Association of Canada. As a Falun Gong practitioner, I am helping to promote the show so more people will witness the goodness of Falun Gong. I'm very pleased and proud. The Divine Performing Arts has presented 81 performances around the world, causing a great sensation. Of the rave reviews received, some say that the Divine Performing Arts is pushing forward a new Renaissance."
Nancy continued: "A supermarket manager told me that he had seen a performance of the Divine Performing Arts, and liked it very much. He said he would go to see it again. He also allowed us to put up a poster in the most noticeable place of the supermarket. It really pleased me to see people's understanding on Falun Gong."
