(Clearwisdom.net) During the Chinese New Year Spectacular shows by the Divine Performing Arts in Ottawa on January 13 and 14, 2008, some Chinese Canadians in the audience experienced amazing mental and physical changes.
Chinese and Western audience members absorbed by the show.
A Man in His Seventies
Ms. Li from Kanata, Canada, talked about what happened to her father after she and her family saw the show.
Ms. Li's father wasn't able to attend the show last year for health reasons. She bought a ticket for him again this year, hoping he would be able to go.
Her father, 78 years old, is originally from Beijing. He has trouble swallowing because of muscular atrophy of his trachea and can't eat or drink normally. He coughed every few minutes and had to use a whole box of tissue every day. Because of his liquid diet, he often had to use the restroom. Every night, he had to go to the restroom seven or eight times. Ms. Li bought him a ticket for a seat in the last row to keep from bothering others in the audience.
With wonder in her voice, she said, "My father sat there and watched the three-hour show without coughing or using the restroom even once. He watched the show quietly. It was a miracle! He said he felt very comfortable. After getting home, he went to the restroom once around 3 o'clock. He woke up the next morning saying he had a great sleep. He saw the show all night in his dreams. It is truly miraculous!" "My father loved the show very much. His favorite was the 'Fruits of Goodness.' He also liked the program about the persecution of Falun Gong. He said the CCP shouldn't have persecuted Falun Gong."
A Woman with a Heart Pump Sat in the Front Row
Ms. Zhen came to Ottawa from Beijing to visit her daughter. She needs a heart pump because of her heart disease. Her daughter bought tickets to the show for the whole family. Ms. Zhen's seat was moved to the first row due to some technical reason. Her daughter was worried that Ms. Zhen wouldn't be able to stand the loud music because her heart couldn't even stand it when her granddaughter played the piano at home.
Ms. Zhen's daughter said, "I was very worried because the drum was very loud. But Mom didn't have any discomfort. On the contrary, she got more and more absorbed and felt more and more comfortable."
Ms. Zhen said, "Tears came to my eyes as soon as the curtain went up. I was so moved and was in tears throughout the show. I felt very good, though. It was miraculous!"
"If the Show Could Could Go to China, How Blessed the Chinese Would Be!"
Ms. Xin, who came to visit family in Canada, told a reporter three days after attending the show, "My legs are cured!" She stressed the word "cured," and her face beamed. Half of her body was paralyzed after a stroke five years ago. She had to drag her right leg along. After watching the show, she could lift her leg. She said, "I felt almost weightless after entering the theater. It was such a peaceful atmosphere. I felt relaxed from head to toe. I didn't feel tired until 3 a.m. that night, but I usually feel tired at 11. I am so lucky! If the show could go to China, how blessed the Chinese would be!" Ms. Xin looks forward to seeing it again.
Software Engineer: "It Is Well Worth the Money!"
Mr. Rui, a senior software engineer, saw the show with his wife for the first time. He said, "I didn't know the show would be so wonderful! I think the value exceeds the price. It was the first time I have seen a truly outstanding show of traditional Chinese culture since I came to Canada. The performers' skills, the costumes, the music, and the backdrop were all top-level." His favorite was "Drummers of the Tang Court".
He used to be influenced by CCP propaganda and didn't understand Falun Gong. His mind was changed after seeing the show. He said, "The CCP officials today only think of their own interests. They ignore promoting traditional Chinese arts overseas. And even worse, they play the role of suppressing its supporters. On the contrary, kind Falun Gong practitioners have endured years of persecution and were still devoted to the cause of spreading traditional Chinese culture overseas. They are great and admirable!"
