(Clearwisdom.net) During the past six months, several Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province.
On July 3, Falun Gong practitioner Xue Lijun, a doctor at Mian County Gynecology Hospital, was reported to the police and arrested by the National Security Group of Mian County Police Station.
On September 9, Falun Gong practitioners Wang Miao and Liu Cuiying were arrested while clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. The police later arrested Falun Gong practitioners Xie Hongxia and Cui Xiaomei. The police ransacked their homes, illegally detained them and extorted two thousand yuan from them.
On September 10, policeman Du Jiucheng and three other people illegally intruded into Falun Gong practitioner Liao Jun's home. (Liao Jun was an employee of Huayan Instrument Company in Nanzheng County.) The police said someone had anonymously reported her. They ransacked her home and sent her to the detention center of Nanzheng County.
In mid-September someone reported Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Xia (in her forties), an official of the Archive Bureau, for clarifying the facts. She was secretly arrested by the police of Mian County police station. Xia was hung by handcuffs and beaten by the police day after day. Later she was illegally detained at Fengjinglu Detention Center in Hantai District.
On November 12, seventy-two-year-old Wang Yunying (who is a retired employee of the Water and Electricity Bureau of Zhanzhong City), sixty-nine-year-old Wang Suyun (a retired teacher in Chenggu County) and fifty-six-year-old Jin Caihua (a retired employee of the Second Factory) were reported by Zhang Dongfeng, the person in charge of Nansha River Reservoir, while the three practitioners were clarifying the facts. They were arrested by the police and detained in Chengu County Detention Center. Zhang received karmic retribution, suffering from heart disease symptoms.
On November 23, Du Shuxin (in her sixties) was reported to the police while distributing truth-clarifying VCDs in Hanzhong City. The leader of the National Security Group of Hantai District, Li Youzhi, along with other police officers, arrested Du and illegally ransacked her home. Du is currently detained at the Fengjinglu Detention Center in Hantai District. She is being persecuted.
On November 25, Chen Deben (in his sixties) of Daijiaba Town, Ningqiang County, was arrested at home by police from the National Security Section of Ningqiang County.
On October 11, right before the Chinese Communist Party's 17th Congress opened, the 610 Office of the Shaanxi Provincial Communist Party sent five to six people, including 610 Office agent Wei Qiming and the number one collaborator in Shaanxi Province, Chen Bin, to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. They harassed and forced various district offices and communities in Hanzhong City to help them illegally arrest practitioners. They arrested nine practitioners and sent them to a brainwashing center in the boarding house of Changkong Instrument Company in Dahekan Town, Nanzheng County. The practitioners were forced to endure brainwashing sessions for as long as two weeks. The practitioners were steadfast in their beliefs, so the evildoers did not succeed and they gave up trying to "transform" the practitioners.
Recently, Chinese Communist Party officials and police from Hanzhong City attempted to illegally harass Falun Gong practitioners and stop practitioners from clarifying the facts to Chinese people.
At around 1:00 p.m. on December 29, 2007, Falun Gong practitioner Xu Chunyan and Zheng Cuiping were reported to the police while clarifying the facts in Zhao Village of Hanzhong City. Xu and Zheng were arrested and detained at Fengjinglu Detention Center of Hantai District. Policeman Ma Ping'an and other officers from the National Security Section of Hantai District later illegally ransacked their home. Xu Chunyan is 43 years old and works for a public bus company in Hanzhong City. Ms. Zheng Cuiping is 63 years old and works for a local product company in Hantai District.
